Rhysotritia granulata sp. n. (Figs 18-20) Description — Measurements: Length of aspis: 226-287 pm, length of notogaster: 475-578 pm, height of notogaster: 334-449 pm. Body surface covered by secretion granules, partly forming a polygonal pattern. Aspis: Its outline gradually convex in lateral view (Fig. 20). One pair of simple lateral carina present, they are connected with the well-developed lateral rim. Bothridial squama large, situated above the bothridium, its posterior part with a spur basally. Among the prodorosal setae the three inner pairs distinctly pilose. Setae exa smooth. Interlamellar setae wider and longer than the remaining ones, much more spinose thant the others, no great difference among setae le and ro. The distance between setae ro much smaller than setae le. Sensillus directed forwards, long, with a distinct head. On its distal margin some spines observable. Notogaster (Fig. 18): Elongate in lateral view. Terminal sinus present. Forteen pairs of notogastral setae present, all setae well spinose on their distal part. Setae c stand conspicuously far from the anterior margin, setae cp much longer than the others. Setae d and e clearly shorter than setae h and p. Four pairs of lyrifissures well visible. Anogenital region (Fig. 19): Median triangle normal. Nine pairs of genital, two pairs of aggenital, three pairs of anal and three pairs of adanal setae present. Anal and adanal setae less blunt than those of notogaster. Legs: First leg bi-, all the others tridactylous. Strong heterodactily present. Legs setal formulae are typical for the genus. Material examined — Holotype: Malagasy Republic, Antananarivo Prov. Angavo Escarpment. Old Eucalyptus plantation replacing montane rainforest at the S side of main road between Ambatolaona and Mandraka 40 km E from the capital, at 1350-1400 m alt. 18'54.3-9'S, 4?53.6-7'E. 27. August 1998. Leg. T Pócs. No. 9891, 3 paratypes from the same sample. Holotype (1639-HO-99) and 2 paratypes (1639-PO-99) deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM), Budapest, with identification number of the specimens in the Collection of Arachnida, 1 paratype: in the collection of Dr. Niedbala. Remarks — The new species may well be characterised by the number of claws, by the short and a long costula and the secretion gralues. This combination of features has not been known among its congeners. Etimology — Named after the secretion granules on the notogaster. Rhysotritia spiculifera Mahunka, 1991 This species was shown by Niedbala (1998) to occur in Ivory Coast in Africa and the Comoro Is. It is new in the fauna of Madagascar.
