Microtritia striatissîma sp. n. (Figs 8-11) Description — Measurements: Length of áspis: 318 pm, length of notogaster: 583 pm, height of notogaster: 437 pm. Áspis: Outline gradually convex in lateral view. Surface nearly smooth or finely punctate, some irregular spots also present. Two pairs of lateral carina present, running parallel from the bothridium anteriorly, the lower one connected with the poorly developed lateral rim. Bothridial squama narrow but long, its margin nearly straight (Fig. 10). Exobothridial setae reduced, the other three pairs short, setae ro and le nearly equal in lenght, interlamellar one shorter than these (Fig. 11). Among the prodorosaî setae three inner pairs distinctly pilose. The distance between setae le much smaller than setae ro. Sensillus fusiform, long, directed forwards, smooth. Notogaster (Fig. 8): Conspicuously high in lateral view. The whole surface striated. Terminal sinus present. Forteen pairs of notogastral setae present, all setae fine and smooth. Setae c, , stand very far from the anterior margin, setae cp much farther from it. Four pairs of lyrifissures well visible. Anogenital region (Fig. 9): Nearly the whole surface ornamented by longitudinal striae, along the median margin some interspces also punctate. Median triangle normal. Four pairs of genital, three pairs of anal and three pairs of adanal setae present. Aggenital setae absent. Legs: Legs monodactylous. Claws well developed. Legs setal formulae are typical for the genus, trochanters III and IV bearing 2 setae each, genu of leg IV without solenidium or seta. Material examined — Holotype: Malagasy Republic, Antananarivo Prov. Angavo Escarpment. Old Eucalyptus plantation replacing montane rainforest at the S side of main road between Ambatolaona and Mandraka 40 km E from the capital, at 1350-1400 m alt. 18'54.3-9'S, 47-53.6-7'E. Date: 27. August 1998. Leg. T. Pócs. No. 9891, Holotype (1637-HO-99) deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum (HNHM), Budapest, with identification number of the specimens in the Collection of Arachnida. Remarks — Differences in body measurements, in the notogaster the anogenital region as well as in the highly peculiar sculpture of make the species unique in the genus. On the other hand, on the basis of the other features, this taxon may readily be relegated in this genus. Etymology — named after the sculpture of the body. Niedbalaia gen. n. Diagnosis — Family Euphthiracaridae. Surface of the aspis and the notogaster distinctly striate. Aspis with one pair of high crista and two pairs of well protruding lateral carina. Three dorsal pairs of prodorsal setae arising in longitudinal rows. Bothridial squama situated below the bothridium. 14 pairs of setae, four pairs of lyrifissures present. Anogenital region with two pairs of triangles, genital plates with one pair of longitudinal keels. Anogenital setal formula: 9-2-3-3. Among the genital setae the 4 posterior pairs are long and flagellate. Setae a { long and strong, erect. All legs monodactylous, chaetotaxy similar to the genus Euphthiracarus. Type species: Niedbalaia incredibilis sp. n. Remarks — On the basis of the two triangles in the longitudinal anogenital suture the new taxon belongs in the close relationship of the genus Fuphthiracarus Ewing, 1917.
