The new species, Bracon (Glabrobracon) dilatus sp. n., is nearest to B. (G.) dolichurus Marshall, 1897 (France, Hungary, Romania: Transylvania), B. (G.) fumatus Szépligeti, 1901 (Hungary), B. (G.) lividus Telenga, 1936 (European part of Russia, Armenia, Turkey, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France) and B. (Lucobracon) meyeri Telenga, 1936 (Russia, Ukraine, Mongolia) considering their long ovipositor sheath (at least longer than metasoma); the females of the five species are distingushed by the features as follows: 1 (12) Oral cavity less large, at most 1.5 times as wide as shortest distance between margin of cavity and lower part of compound eye (Fig. 28, see arrows). Second submarginal cell long, 3-SR distinctly longer than 2-SR, 4-SR at least approaching tip of wing (Figs 5, 16, 25, 30) (subgenus Glabrobracon). 2 (3) First tergite wide, as long medially as wide behind (Fig. 8). Metasoma broad, second tergite transverse, 3.5-4 times as wide behind as long medially, tergites 2-3 equal in length (Fig. 8). Hind tarsomeres relatively strong, in lateral view hind basitarsus four times as long as broad apically (Fig. 4). Mesosoma black, imaginary run of notaulix reddish yellow. 9: 5 mm B. (G.) dilatus sp. n. 3 (2) First tergite less wide, i.e. more or less longer than wide behind (Figs 11, 24, 32); if as long as wide behind then hind basitarsus not strong (B. lividus). Metasoma less broad, second tergite less transverse, three times as wide behind as long medially (Figs 24, 32); except B. lividus with at least 3.3-3.5 times wider second tergite, third tergite slightly longer than second tergite (Fig. 11). Hind tarsomeres relatively less strong, in lateral view hind basitarsus five times as long as broad apically (Fig. 21). Body at most four mm long. 4 (7) Temple in dorsal view (Figs 10, 13) more or less receded and eye 1.6-1.7 times as long as temple, i.e. temple clearly shorter than eye. 5 (6) Head in dorsal view transverse (Fig. 10), 1.8-1.9 times as broad as long. First tergite somewhat longer than wide behind (or, less usually, as long as broad behind), suture between tergites 2-3 faintly bisinuate (Fig. 11). Metasoma belliform, second tergite more transverse, i.e. at least 3.3-3.5 times as wide behind as long medially, usually smooth (Fig. 11), sometimes medially rugulose (Fig. 12). Ovipositor sheath short, as long as metasoma + half mesosoma combined. Yellow with more or less dark pattern. 9: (2.7-) 3.5-4 mm B. (G.) lividus Telenga 6 (5) Head in dorsal view less transverse (Fig. 13), 1.6-1.7 times as broad as long. First tergite long, 1.4-1.5 times as long as wide behind, suture between tergites 2-3 straight (Fig. 14). Metasoma cylindrical, second tergite less transverse, i.e. at most three times as wide behind as long medially (Fig. 14). Ovipositor sheath long, almost twice as long as body. Black, tergites 1-2 reddish yellow or yellow, scutum of first tergite more or less dark to blackish. 2: 3.3-3.6 mm B. (G.) trypanophorus Marshall 7 (4) Temple in dorsal view (Figs 18, 19, 26) rounded and about as long as eye. First tergite clearly longer than wide behind (Figs 17, 24, 32)
