Nesoselandria infuscata sp. n. (Figs 4, 8, 11, 14, 17) Female — Colour: Body black, golden yellow are: sternites 2-5, protrochanter and adjoining parts of coxa and femur, prototibia and following 3 basitarsi, mesoleg except infuscated basal 2/3 of femur and apical 2 tarsal joints, metaleg except apical 4 tarsal joints. Wings hyaline, venation including costa, subcosta and stigma fuscous. Structure: Average length 4.5 mm. Antenna filiform, 1.5 x head width, scape and pedicel equal, segments 3 and 4 as 4:3. Clypeus (Fig. 4) subtruncate, labrum (Fig. 4) broader than long as 2:1 with rounded anterior margin, malar space 1 x diameter of median ocellus. LID:IDMO:EL = 1:1:0.8, POL:OCL:OOL: = 1:0.8:1.3. Supraantennal pits deep, rounded, area between them smooth. Frontal area at level of eyes, median fovea shallowly indicated above supraclypeal area; post- and interocellar furrows absent, circumocellar furrow fine; lateral furrows sunken, diverging posteriorly and ending abruptly, just at hypothetical hind margin of head; postocellar area convex, broader than long as 2:1, head narrowing behind eyes. Mesoscutellum subconvex, appendage ecarinate, ICD:ITD = 1:7, epicnemium separated from mesopleuron by distinct furrow. Tarsal claw (Fig. 8) with subapical tooth shorter than apical one, basal lobe minute, metabasitarsus longer than following 3 joints combined as 4:3, IATS:MB:OATS = 1:2.6:0.9. Ovipositor sheath as in Fig. 11 (lateral view) and in Fig. 14 (dorsal view). Lancet (Fig. 17) having 9 serrulae. Sculpture: Body almost impunctate, shining. Pubescence: Fuscous, 0.4 x scape length. Male —Yet to be discovered. Material examined. — Holotype: Female, West Bengal, Darjeeling, 2200 m, 26.5.1989, coll. M. S. Saini. Paratypes: Female West Bengal, Kurseing, 5000 m, (E. Himalaya), Indian Mus., 46/3, 5.9. 1909 (deposited in the HNHM); Uttar Pradesh, Mandai, 2300 m, 1 female, 10.6.1985, coll. M. S. Saini. Individual variations — All specimens alike. Distribution — India: West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh. Discussion — Because of metatibia and basitarsus entirely yellow; sternites 2-5 golden yellow; area between supraantennal pits smooth and shining; tegula black, and mesofemur distinctly infuscated, N. infuscata is distinct from the rest of the species of this genus. Some of its specific characters include; postocellar area broader than long as 2:1; malar space 1 x diameter of median ocellus; interocellar furrow absent; median fovea shallowly depressed particularly in the anterior half; antennái segments 3 and 4 as 4:3 and lateral furrows sunken. All these characters in combination keep it far apart from all other Oriental species of this genus. It has a wide distributional range i.e. covering north-western hill slopes. This area should be surveyed in the second half of June. Etymology. — The species name pertains to the apical infuscation of the wings. Nesoselandria elost sp. n. (Figs 1,5, 18,21) Female — Yet to be discovered. Male — Colour: Body black, golden yellow are: all trochanters and adjoining parts of coxae and femora, extreme apices of all femora, all tibiae and following basitarsi, rest of tarsal joints infuscated. Wings hyaline, venation including costa, subcosta and stigma fuscous.
