S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 60. (Budapest, 1999)

some species is uncertain (e.g. Physatocheila confinis Horváth, 1905; Agramma fallax (Horváth, 1906); Kleidocerys privignus (Horváth, 1894); Geocoris arenarius (Jakovlev, 1867); Rhyparochromus phoeniceus (Rossi, 1794) etc.) so the correct number of species is not sure. A lot of species from the previous list are probably not constant elements in the Hungarian fauna but accidental invaders. Such species are Nabis (Tropiconabis) capsiformis (Germar, 1837), Spilostethus pandurus (Scopoli, 1763), Pachybrachius luridus Hahn, 1826, Icus angularis Fieber, 1861 and possibly Phimodera flori Fieber, 1863 and Psacasta pallida Reuter, 1902. Specimens of the last two species have not been found by the author, probably misidentification (?). The presence of Phimodera flori is sure in Hungary (the only specimen which Horváth had was identified first Ph. fumosa, and later Ph. flori determined, but Harmat (1984) recently has found a second specimen). The data of Nysius graminicola (Kolenati, 1846) are questionable, too. The author has Sternodontus hungaricus Halászfy, 1956 not found in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. But there is a specimen from the type locality with the data of the type specimen ("Pótharaszt pszt., Szent Ivány J.; 1938. VIII. 7.; female") labelled hand-written "Sternodontus Dudichi Hfy, Typus". This name is not published, therefore is a nomen nudum. Under this label there is another label with hand writing, too: "& binodulus Jak., Josifov det, 1985". It is correct by the mention of the author, too. This opinion of Professor Josifov is still unpublished. So Sternodontus hungaricus Halászfy, 1956 syn. n. is a synonym of S. binodulus Jakovlev, 1893. Pygolampis laticaput Benedek, 1968 is other case. This species described from Hungary but by Putshkov (1982) is an extra-European species, so or mislabelled (erroneous type-locality) or accidentally imported. Acalypta pulchra Stusák, 1961, Physatocheila smreczynskii China, 1952 and Xylocoris formicetorum (Boheman, 1844): these species are known from the recent literature but the locality is only "Hongrie" (on the bases of specimens from the last century). A few further species can be found in the first two volumes of the "Catalogue of the Heteroptera of the Palaearctic Region", generally with question marks. Some of these are surely not elements of the Hungarian fauna: Lethocerus patruelis (Stâl, 1854), Sigara s. stagnalis (Leach, 1817), Oncocephalus pilicornis Reuter, 1882, Oncocephalus plumicornis (Germar, 1822) and Oncocephalus squalidus (Rossi, 1790).
