Vipio illusor (Klug) Bracon illusor Klug, 1817: in Germar: Reise nach Dalmatien 2: 259 9 (syntype series: three females), type locality: Cherso (and not "Cherson" as in Shenefelt 1978: 1850) now Cres (an island and town in Dalmatia, Croatia), lectotype 9 (and 2 9 paralectotypes, present des­ignation) in Zoologisches Museum, Berlin; examined. - Shenefelt 1978: 1850 (literature up to 1936). Vipio maculator Brullé, 1832: Exped. sei. Moréé Zool. 2: 383 6 (syntype series: one male), type locality: Moréa (Greece: Peloponessos), lectotype (^(present designation) in Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris; examined, syn. n. - Shenefelt 1978: 1852 (as valid species, litera­ture up to 1936). Bracon contractor Nees, 1834: Hym. lehn, affin. Mon. 1: 124 9 (syntype series: three females), type locality: "Viennae" (Austria), syntypes destroyed; syn. n. - Shenefelt 1978: 1844 (as valid species, literature up to 1971). Remarks - 1.) The male lectotype of Vipio maculator Brullé is in good condition. Antenne with 41 antennomeres, third tergite basally with longitudinal striation. - 2.) The female lectotype and one female paralectotype of Bracon illusor Klug represent the nominate species, the second female paralectotype, however, belongs to Vipio inter­medius Szépligeti, 1896 and 1 labelled this specimen accordingly. - 3.) Distributed in the western Palaearctic Region. In Europe sporadic to frequent, reported from six countries in the southern half of Europe (Shenefelt 1978: 1844); eastwards its area extends as far as Turkmenia and the Baikal Region (Russia) (Tobias 1986: 109). Vipio intermedius Szépligeti, 1896 - A Palaearctic species, westwards in Europe dis­tributed in Bohemia and Hungary. New to the fauna of Croatia. Vipio longicauda (Boheman, 1853) (=Ichneumon nominator Fabricius, 1793 nec 1787) - Localities: 1 6 (in Berlin): Bosnien, Miljevici, 600 m, 6 VII 1911, leg. Vipio terrefactor (Villers, 1789) - A Palaearctic species, in Europe distributed in its southern half . In the last three decades much less frequently taken than before.
