Amblyseius populi sp. n. (Fig. 3) Female: The dorsal shield is oval, bilaterally with small dwindlings. Length: 420 pm, breadth: 180 pm. Its surface is slightly sclerotised, propodosoma is almost smooth, metapodosoma and opisthosoma are ornamented with striae. It bears five pairs of small solenostomes. The nine pairs of lateral setae are setiform, setae Li-L 7 are of medium length (40-50 pm), seta L 8 is shorter (30 pm), seta L 9 is long (70 pm). The dorsocentrals and setae Mi are short (30 pm), seta NT is long (70 pm). The peritreme reaches seta L,. The opisthogastral shield is elongated crestform, its surface is smooth, bearing three pairs of small preanal setae. Solenostome is minute and round. Calyx is strongly elon­gated, digitiform. Fig. 4.
