of pterostigma and as long as cuqiû, r2 somewhat longer than cuqul, r3 less than twice as long as rl and reaching tip of wing. Metasoma somewhat shorter than head + mesosoma combined. First tergite (Fig. 52) 1.25 times as long as broad behind, beyond pair of spiracles weakly broadening, laterally and its scutum postero-laterally rugose-rugulose, lateral field (i.e., tergite laterally from scutum) of first tergite relatively wide. Second tergite somewhat shorter than third tergite, antero-medially with fine to very fine rugulosity, otherwise together with further tergites polished, second suture bisinuate and smooth (Fig. 52). Head and mesosoma black. Mandible rusty, palpi brownish. Antenna black. Tegula dark brown. First tergite black, further tergites brownish black, tergites 2-4 laterally dark yellow. Coxae black, otherwise legs brownish black, fore femur distally and entire fore tibia as well as tibiae 2-3 proximally yellow. Wings subhyaline, pterostigma dark brown and veins brown. Description of the female paralectotype - Similar to the male. Body 4 mm long. Head in dorsal view (Fig. 53) transverse, 1.76 times as broad as long, eye 1.42 times as long as temple, latter somewhat more rounded, occiput weakly excavated. Ocelli somewhat less small, POL : OD : OOL as 5 : 5 : 12. Antenna as long as body and with 29 antennomeres. Flagellum indistinctly attenuating, flagellomeres subcubic, i.e., somewhat longer than broad. - Fore wing as long as body. Pterostigma 2.3 times as long as wide, rl as long as cuqul . - First tergite just longer than broad behind, weakly rugulose, laterally along margin of scutum with crenulae (Fig. 54). Second and third tergites equal in length. Ovipositor sheath fairly long, as long as hind tibia + hind basitarsus combined. Posterior end of ovipositor as in Fig. 60. Additional features to the females and males - Similar to the types. Body 2.8-4.3 mm long. Head in dorsal view 1.64-1.7 times (females) and 1.7-1.78 times (males) as broad as long, eye 1.2-1.3 times (females) and 1.35-145 times (males) as long as temple. Antenna with 28-32 antennomeres. First tergite just longer than broad behind, with variable sculpture (Figs 52, 54, 55). Distribution: England, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece. Host unknown. Within the subgenus Lucobracon (Fahringer, 1927) Tobias, 1957 Bracon tornator is nearest to B. otiosus Marshall, the two species are distinguished by the following features: 1 (2) Temple in dorsal view rounded (Figs 49, 53). Lateral field (i.e., laterally from scutum) of first tergite relatively wide, margin of scutum not crenulate (Figs 52, 54, 55). r3 less than twice as long as rl (Fig. 51). Hind femur relatively more narrowing proximally and distally (Fig. 50). Ovipositor sheath as long as hind femur + hind basitarsus. Metasoma black to brownish black, tergites 2-4 laterally dark yellow or reddish yellow. 2 6: 2.8-4.3 mm B. (L.) tornator Marshall, 1885 2 (1) Temple in dorsal view less rounded (Fig. 56). Lateral field (i.e., laterally from scutum) of first tergite relatively less wide, margin of scutum finely crenulate (Fig. 57). r3 more than twice as long as r2 (Fig. 58). Hind femur relatively less
