Eubazus Nees, 1814 The generic name Eubazus was changed by the descriptor, Nees ab Esenbeck in 1834 as Eubadizon (Nees 1834: 233) and for many decades this name was applied by the majority of the authors (Shenefelt 1970: 229). Mason (1974) called our attention that the name Eubazus has priority over Eubadizon. World-wide nearly 100 Eubazus species have been described; Tobias (1986: 159-165) included 46 Eubazus species in his key to the species of the European part of the former USSR. In Hungary 25 Eubazus species are recorded of which 9 are new to the fauna of our country. Following Mason (1974: 241) Eubazus (or Brachistes) tuberculator (Zetterstedt) is transferred to the genus Allodorus Foerster.
