ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LVII 1996 pp. 85-89 The occurrence of Aethes caucasica (Amsel, 1959) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae: Cochylini) in Transylvania (Romania) Z. Kovács and S. Kovács The occurrence of Aethes caucasica (Amsel, 1959) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae: Cochylini) in Transylvania (Romania) — Aethes caucasica is collected in Transylvania (Romania) for the first time. Description of the female and its genitalia are given. With 6 figures. Aethes caucasica (Amsel, 1959) is a rather poorly known species (Razowski 1970), recorded only from the Caucasus (Tbilisi, Georgia), the steppe-belt of the southern Ural region (Orenburg) and from Northern Italy (Trentino). The discussion given by Razowski (1970) was based on six male specimens. The discovery of the taxon in the "Mezőség" in Transylvania (Fig. 1) has a particular interest, as representing not only new distribution data but gives the opportunity for the description of the formerly unknown female.
