gellar segments 1-4; 1st flagellar segment 1.5, 2nd^4th each about 3.0 times as long as wide; the four apical segments form an indistinct club, each segment about 2.5 times as long as wide. Thorax as wide as head and as high as wide. Sides of pronotum smooth except anteriorly. Mesoscutum anteriorly with two weak admedian lines, whole disc coriaceous but not regularly or strongly so, somewhat shiny and almost bare; notauli complete but weak. Mesopleura smooth and bare. Scutellum (Fig. 15) feebly convex, at level of mesoscutum, smooth and bare. Metapleura with some white hairs. Propodeum dorsally bare but dull; propodeal keels parallel and wide apart, area in between smooth and shiny. Legs with no peculiarities. Fore wing clear, about 2.8 times as long as wide; marginal cilia very short. Hind wing with two frenal hooks, 4.6 times as long as wide; marginal cilia about one-fifth the width of wing. Gaster (Fig. 16) as wide as thorax and a little longer (19:16) than head and mesosoma combined, pointed at apex. Tergite 1 with two strong and several weaker longitudinal carinae, bare except laterally; T2 striated in and between basal foveae to about two-fifths of tergite, rest of tergite and the following tergites smooth and bare; T3-T6 combined almost as long as T2, all transverse except the triangular T6 which is slightly longer than broad at base. Hind margins of T2-T6 straight. Sternite 1 densely hairy; sternite 2 without a hump anteriorly between hind coxae but with a tuft of dense hairs here. Colour black; antennae uniformly dark brown; antennái toruli yellow; tegulae, all femora, all tibiae distally and last segments of all tarsi brownish; tibiae proximally and basal segments of tarsi yellowish brown. Length: 1.5-1.9 mm. Male. Unknown. Holotype female: Denmark, North East Zealand, Tisvildeleje 26. IV. 1895 "from a cecidomyiid larva on pine" (coll. R. W. Schlick), deposited in the collection of the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen. Paratype: Denmark, North East Zealand, Sels0, Klinten 22. V. 1987, 1 female (P. N. Buhl leg.), deposited in the collection of the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen. Close to P. compressicornis (Th.) but differs from this species more particularly in having a less transverse head, thicker antennái segments and smooth tergites 2-6, cf. description of compressicornis in Huggert (1973). P. schlicki is named in honour of Mr. R. W. Schlick (1839-1916) as he established the collection of platygastrids in which the holotype of the species was discovered. (He was not the collector of this specimen, however, according to his diary he collected on another locality on the date concerned.) REFERENCES Buhl, P. N.
