combined, ratio 3:2; IATS:MB:OATS = 1:2:0.75. Lancet (Fig. 23) with 19 serrulae. Ovipositor sheath as in Fig 8 (lateral view) and Fig. 13 (dorsal view). Sculpture and pubescence: Head with dense, minute, inconspicuous punctures, surface shining; thorax except mesoscutellum and appendage with dense, minute, distinct punctures, surface shining with general oily lustre; abdomen impunctate, surface subshining. Body covered with golden pubescence. Male - Not found. Holotype - Female, Uttar Pradesh, Gobind Dham, 3000 m, 25. 6. 1989. Paratype - None. Distribution - India: Uttar Pradesh. Diagnostic combinations - When seen superficially this species resembles N. fulvidus sp. n., but a combination of some significant taxonomic characters which include scape as long as its apical width; pedicel half of its apical width; inter- and circumocellar furrows indistinct; POL:UOL:OCL:UCL as 1:1:1:1; make this species distinct from all other Indian Nematus species. Etymology - The species name is in the honour of Sh. P. L. Kaler, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Punjab, India, who helped me in many ways to make this work a success. Nematus fulvidus sp. n. (Figs 4, 7, 12, 17, 24) Female - Colour: Body fulvous, black are: antenna; mandible apex; a broad spot covering and surrounding ocelli extending as a medial longitudinal streak on postocellar area; mesonotal middle lobe except lateral margins and sagittated apex; broad medial spots on mesonotal lateral lobes; a spot before metascutellum; a medial spot on posterior slope of metascutellum; a broad triangular spot on mesosternum lateral to its sutures; metanotum lateral to cenchri; saw sheath. Legs fulvous except extreme apices of all more or less fuscous tarsi. Wings hyaline; venation including costa, subcosta and stigma piceous. Structure: Average length 7. 5 mm. Antenna long, 3 times head width; scape twice as long as its apical width; pedicel as long as its apical width; segment 3 shorter than 4, as 3:4; clypeus (Fig. 4) roundly incised up to 1/2 of its medial length; labrum broader than long as 3:2: with rounded anterior margin; LID:IDMO:EL = 5:5:3; malar space 1.2 times diameter of median ocellus; postgenal carina absent; hind orbits not carinated; supraclypeal area tectiformly raised without carina; supraclypeal pit deep and well developed; supraantennal pit shallow; frontal area raised above the level of eyes; supraantennal tubercles insignificant; median fovea in form of shallow pit in its raised anterior part and posteriorly pentagonal in outline in front of median ocellus with shallow and flat bottom; postocellar furrow indistinct; inter- and circumocellar furrows indicated; lateral furrows distinct and ending well before the hypothetical hind margin of head; postocellar area subconvex, broader than long as 3:2, with a median longitudinal furrow; head parallel behind eyes; POL:UOL:OCL:UCL = 4:3:4:3; mesoscutellum subconvex, appendage neither carinated nor grooved; tarsal claw (Fig. 17) with a subapical tooth subequal to apical one; basal lobe absent; hind basitarsus shorter than following 3 joints combined,
