FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LV 1994 p. 59-64 Additional records on the Tabanidae fauna of North Korea (Diptera)* Á. Dely-Draskovits and H. Takahasi Additional records on the Tabanidae fauna of North Korea (Diptera). - Distributional data on 21 species of Tabanidae are given. Three species (Tabanus murdochi, T. taiwanus and T. yao) aie mentioned for the first time in North Korea. INTRODUCTION In total 39 species of horseflies (Tabanidae) were reported by Okamoto (1924), Shiraki (1932), Olsufjev (1937, 1977), Kono and Takahasi (1939), Chow (1973), Chang et al. (1973) and Hyun and Shin (1975) from the Korean Peninsula until 1991. The species were mostly recorded from South Korea excepting Olsufjev' s paper. However, Olsufjev wrote only Korea and no further locality specification was given. In 1993 Kozánek and Takahasi reported 17 species with detailed localities. The material was obtained as the results of the Kozánek's collections through his entomological surveys in 1988 and 1989. The present paper is based on the materials collected by six Entomological Expeditions organized by the Hungarian Natural History Museum during the years of 1970, 1971, 1975, 1977, 1979 and 1982 (Mahunka and Steinmann 1971, Papp and Horvatovich 1972, Papp and Vojnits 1976, Dely and Dely-Draskovits 1978, Steinmann and Vásárhelyi 1980, Forró and Ronkay 1983). From the 32 collections 135 specimens (6 ó and 129 Ç ) of Tabanidae were collected. They are classified as the following 21 species. RESULTS In the subsequent list the unified locality names compiled by Vojnits and Zombori (1979) were used. The names of species follow the list of Chvála (1988).
