Hungary. Its recent data: Ortilos, Southwest Hungary, along Drava river, May 27, 1992, 1 d ; May 17, 1993 1 ? ; Oct. 11-12, 1993 1 ? , light trap. Lepidostoma hirtum Fabricius. Although several collecting sites have been known from Hungary, this species seemed to be very rare. In recent times it was captured in large masses along the upper branches of Danube, in Szigetköz. Sometimes several hundred specimens have been taken in one night by light or by light trap. Athripsodes albifrons Linnaeus. Újhelyi (1971) presented three collecting sites. During the past 12 years we collected a female in the Bükk Mountains. In the years 19911993 some specimens were again collected along the upper branches of Danube (Mosonmagyaróvár, Halászi, Kimle) and Dráva (Ortilos). Actually an endangered species! Erotesis baltica McLachlan. Újhelyi (1971) mentioned it only from 2 locaities. Later it was captured at Balatonalmádi (Újhelyi 1979). During the last decade it was collected at Tornanádaska (North Hungary), around the lake Baláta, co. Somogy (Nógrádi and Uherkovich 1992) and around the lake Balaton, at Tihany-Sajkod by light trap (Nógrádi and Uherkovich 1994). Endangered species. Setodes viridis Fourc. Authentic specimens were captured only at Magyarszombatfa, West Hungary a decade ago (Uherkovich and Nógrádi 1992a). Meanwhile this sole site has been deteriorated. In 1993 some further specimens were collected by lamp along the Rába river, close to the Austrian border in the westernmost part of Hungary (Alsószölnök, July 13 and July 15, 1993, 5 dd and 6 , leg. S. Nógrádi & Á. Uherkovich) and several specimens (25 dd 12 ) on June 9, 10 and 11, 1993 by a light trap erected at Apátistvánfal va, W Hungary. ON THE HYDROPTILA SPECIES LIVING IN HUNGARY Nine Hydroptila species were shown to occur in Hungary till recent time: H. angustata Mosely, H. dampfi Ulmer, H. forcipata Eaton, H. lotensis McL., H. occulta Eaton, H. simulons Mosely, H. sparsa Curt., H. tineoides Dalman and H. vectis Curt. H. occulta Est. and H. vectis Curt. (syn. H. McLachlani Klap.) were mentioned first from the area of Hungary by Mocsáry (1900). Later a further species, H. forcipata Eat. was published in the company of the previous ones by Pongrácz (1916). After almost 70 year Andrikovics and Újhelyi (1982) recorded another species, H. dampfi Ulmer. Owing to very intensive work on the Trichoptera fauna in the past twelve years the number of species in Hungary has increased to nine. Thus, the next species complete the list: H. sparsa Curt. (Nógrádi 1985b), H. lotensis McL., H. tineoides Dalman and H. simulons Mosely (Nógrádi 1985a). This latter, H. simulons Mosely published there, later proved to be H. angustata Mosely (Uherkovich and Nógrádi 1990). Authentic specimens of H. simulons Mosely were found later (in the year 1989), which are presented subsequently. The collection and determination of Hydroptila species and of Hydroptilidae are rather difficult due to their minute size. In most cases they escaped the collectors' attention and the methods of collection were not favourable to discover these small insects. During the past years we always paid attention to hydroptilids and thus we could take many specimens by the help of mercury vapour bulbs and by selecting the most adFolia ent. hung. 55,1994
