Pronotum sordid whitish, scutum and scutellum sordid yellow. Orange pattern marked by transverse striation in Fig. 942 and the brown one by oblique dashes. Face creamy in upper part centrally and on outer parts of genae; below bases of antennae dark brown centrally and laterally. The whitish central area of face reaches considerably further basad in the midline. A small transverse orange patch near upper extreme of face at each eye. Fore wing predominantly sordid beigebrownish with reddish tint in antero-costal part, light tan or semitransparent whitish in apical half and on clavus apicad of the transverse brown band. The pattern marked by oblique dashes in Fig. 936 dark grey-brown, a patch at the proximal end of wax-field and the oblique band the darkest; patch at apical part of M blackish. Length M 2.9 mm. Pygofer elongated, its caudo-dorsal angle produced caudad (Fig. 944); inner process of the caudal lobe as long as the whole caudo-ventral margin (Fig. 943) and several large macrosetae occupying surface of the terminal protruding. Subgenital plate bearing 3 or 4 macrosetae (apical half's of both plates missing). Setae on paramere (Fig. 940) reaching near tip. Arms of connective widely spread (Fig. 939). Penis stem tubular, terminating on a short process at apex, provided with two small latero-dorsal lamellae subapically and a lamellate short process on manubrium at base of the stem on ventral side (Figs 937, 941). Male basal abdominal apodemes reaching half of segment 5, sligtly narrowing apicad (Fig. 938). Comparison. The new species shows features that are shared by Z. insecata (Mel.), Z. picta (Mel.) and their relatives. However, its colouration as well as details of male genitalia (especially penis and pygofer structure) allow to distinguish the species as separate. At present exact affiliations of Z. mandali sp. n. can not be established. Remarks. The name is formed to honour Mr. R. N. Mandai of the Botanical Survey of India in Gangtok, who identified several plants from Sikkim. Zyginella nadobna sp. n.
