Raphidia ophiopsis ophiopsis L. atrium bursae of the female from Gilau, dorsal view To find some reliable distinctive characteristic for separating the females of/?, mediterranea and /?. o. ophiopsis I have examined the bursa copulatrix of four female "Raphidia ophiopsis" specimens collected on lowland territories of Hungary (Map I.), and that of three other R. ophiopsis females from montainous or northern territories of Europe. The examination showed that the shape of the atrium bursae in dorsal view may be utilized to distinguish the two phena.
