studied but it is obvious from the description (Chujo 1985) that in scotytoides only the males have the above-mentioned impunctate area, while both sexes of zaitzevi have it. Furthermore, the posterolateral angles of pronotum in scotytoides are mar­kedly angulate, less angulate in dybasi and similis (Fig. 9), while those of zaitzevi are completely rounded (Figs 10-11). The shape of antennái segments are different in dybasi (Fig. 2), similis (Fig. 3) and zaitzevi (Fig. 4). The punctation of the head and pronotum is less coarse and more superficial in zaitzevi. Minor differences bet­ween similis and zaitzevi are apparent in the 8th abdominal tergite of females (Figs 12-13) and in the armature of fore tibiae (Figs 6-7). References Chujo, M.
