FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LUI 1992 p. 89-92 A new Rhipidandrus species from Vietnam (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) By T. Kompantzeva and O. Merkl (Received 30 April, 1992) A new Rhipidandrus species from Vietnam (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae). - Rhipidandrus zaitzevi sp. n. is described from Vietnam. With 15 figures. The genus Rhipidandrus LeConte, 1862 belongs to the subtribe Rhipidandrina within the Tenebrionine tribe Bolitophagini (Doyen et al. 1989). Species assigned to this genus are known from the Americas, Africa, South-east Asia, Australia, New Guinea and Oceania. An identification key to the Indomalayan and Papuan-Australian species was prepared by Kaszab (1955). Later, Kulzer (1957) described two further species from Micronesia and provided a key to the species of that archipelago. Finally, Chujo (1985) described a species from the Japanese island Iriomote, bringing the number of known Indomalayan-Australian-Oceanian species to 9. The present paper adds one more species from Vietnam but it should be emphasized that a thorough revision of the genus would be welcome. Rhipidandrus zaitzevi sp. n. Head (Fig. 1) with cranium roundly convex anteriorly, gently trapezoidal posteriorly; frons between eyes about three times wider than eye diameter in dorsal view; surface densely and coarsely punctate, with shining, impunctate subcordiform spots (more expanded and cordate in female); front margin of head narrowly reflected; epistomal suture distinct, trapezoidal; clypeus strongly convex, shining medially, sparsely punctate laterally; genae encroaching the anterior 1/3 of eyes; occiput convex, coarsely and quite densely punctate, with a shallow median groove; inner ocular ridges slightly convex, roundly bent outwards; labroclypeal membrane exposed; labrum trapezoidal, broadly concave anteriorly. Antennae (Fig. 4) subfiliform in basal part, apical 5 segments clavate, densely setulose, 7th to 10th seg-
