FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LII (1991) 1992 p. 15-20 To the geographic distribution of the Longitarsus pratensis-group (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae: Alticinae) By B. Gruev and O. Merkl (Received September 28, 1991) To the geographic distribution of the Longitarsus pratensis-group (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae: Alticinae). - Locality data of 8 species of the Longitarsus pratensis-group are given. The following species are recorded from the following countries for the first time: L. reichei (Allard): Albania, Armenia, Greece, L. lewisii (Baty) Uzbekistan, L. medvedevi Shapiro: Rumania, L. bytinskii Furth: Armenia, L. minimus Kutschern: Yugoslavia. This paper is based on a revisional study on all the materials belonging to the Longitarsus pratensis-gfoup preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum and on some specimens from various other collections. The Longitarsus pratensis-group was revised and a key to the species was given recently (Leonardi & Doguet 1990). This study presents a contribution to the geographical distribution of the species included in this group. As a result, various species are recorded for the first time from various countries. The depositories of the specimens are indicated in the text by the following abbreviations: B = Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. BM = British Museum (Natural History), London. E = Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, Eberswalde. G = Muséum d'Histoire naturelle, Geneva. GC = B. Gruev's collection, Plovdiv. HU = Zoologisches Museum, Humbold Universität, Berlin M = L. N. Medvedev's collection, Moscow. MM = Manchester Museum, Department of Entomology, Manchester. O = Canadian National Collection of Insects, Biosystematic Research Centre, Ottawa. P = National Museum, Department of Entomology, Prague. V = Museo Civico di Storia Naturale, Verona. For the material examined, the locality, the collecting date and the name of the collector (if stated on the labels) are given followed by the abbreviation of the depository in parentheses. In the case of the abundant Longitarsus pratensis of Hungary and Yugoslavia, only the localities are listed.
