ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK L 1969 p. 47-59 A survey of the Oribatid fauna (Acari) of Vietnam, III* By S. MAHUNKA (Received December 20, 1988) Abstract: A survey of the Oribatid fauna (Acari) of Vietnam, III. - The study of Oribatids collected in Vietnam in 1988. Four Galumnoid species are described, all new for science. . In this series of my papers I continuously elaborate the Oribatid materials collected from different parts of Vietnam (Mahunka 1988). This part comprises Galumnoid species which were collected in South Vietnam by the author during the latest expedition in 19 88 (Mahunka, Oláh, Vásárhelyi 1988). The present contribution describes 4 species of the family Galumnidae Jacot, 1925. Two of them belong to the genus Galumna von Heyden, 1826 an two to the genus Pergalumna Grandjean, 1936. Galumna aba sp. n. Sexual differentiations on the notogaster are present. Measurements. - Length: 338-413 urn, width: 240-274 urn; females are slightly larger than the males, the longest male is 375 fim. Prodorsum: Rostrum widely rounded in dorsal view. Prodorsal outline concave anteriorly and - after this part - well convex in lateral view 'Fig. 5L Lamellar (L* and sublamellar (S* lines converge anteriorly, the former one runs more straight anteriorly, to the insertion of the rostral setae, the latter is strongly recurved ventrally. Tutorium and the E horizontal chitinous ridge well developed, they are almost approaching each other. The surface between line S and tutorium is strictly polygonated. Among the prodorsal setae setae ro are the longest of all, well ciliated, setae le minute, fine, sometimes hardly observable. Setae in and ex reduced, represented only by their alveoli. Setae le are located between lines L and S. Sensillus (Fig. 6) long, asymmetrically spindle-shaped, its distal half well spinose or spiculate. Bothridial and dorsosejugal areae porosae are well observable, preceding one shorter than the ds.j areae porosae. Notogaster: Surface smooth. Dorsosejugal suture interrupted medially. Dorsophragmatic apophyzes (hy) strongly chitinised, large (Fig. 1). Pteromorphae have the usual morphology of the genus, without any characteristic design. Four pairs of areae porosae, ten pairs of reduced setae, represented only by alveoli, well-visible lyrifissures, the glandular opening and a median porus present. The latter and the additional porosisty observable on both sexes. In the form of the areae porosae (Aa, Aj-Aß) a sexual differentiation exists. In male notogaster Aj and A2 very large, A3 ribbon-shaped (Fig. U; in female notoHungarian zoological studies in Vietnam, No. 15.
