Apanteles arcticus Thomson, 1895 - Malar space unusually long, about 1.3-1.4 times longer than basal width of mandible. Head in frontal view transverse, 1. 2 times broader than high. Antennái joints 14-17 subcubic. Metacarp at most as long as pterostigma; rl oblique to fore margin of pterostigma. Similar to A. tenebrosus (Wesmael). - Distribution: A rare species. Described from Norway, new to the fauna of Hungary. Localities - 1/1: 1 o.: Mezőtúr. - II/ 1: 2 <j>: Budapest, ex Etiella 'zinckenella Tr. (Lep. Phycitidae) Nov. 1898 (in laboratory). 1 <j>: Pilismarót, ex Cupido minimus Fuessly (Lep. Lycaenidae). - VII and XI. Apanteles brevicornis (Wesmael, 1837) (= cleoceridis Marshall, 1888) - Easy to recognize by its elongated body. First tergite parallel-sided; second tergite less transverse, 1.6-1.7 times wider behind than long medially. Head in dorsal view less transverse, (1. 7-) 1. 8 times as broad as long. Pterostigma 2. 3-2. 5 times longer than wide, issuing radial vein distinctly from its middle. Metasoma posteriorly more or less compressed laterally. - Distribution: Sporadic in Europe, reported from Azerbaidzhan in the USSR. Locality - II/1: 1 (j>: Ugod, Somberek. VI. Apanteles cajae (Bouché, 1834) (= difficilis Nees, 1834) - Hypopygium large and some* what surpassing hind tip of last tergite. First tergite as long as wide at hind, distinctly broadening posteriorly. - Distribution: Frequent in the Palaearctic Region. Penultimate joint of antenna twice to almost twive as long as broad. Pterostigma conscpiusously narrow, about 3-3. 5 times as long as wide. Hind femur usually reddish yellow, apically black(ish), dark colour frequently variable. - Distribution: In Europe a rare species (Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Finland, Ireland). New to the fauna of Hungary and Transylvania (Romania). Localities - 1/1: 1 Zamárdi. - II/1: 1 S: Porva, Cuha-völgy. - II/2: 1 3: Dédestapolcsány. Fifth joint of fore tarsus laterally with a curved spinule Distribution: Described from England, reported from Hungary. Éhik. - VI/2: 1 6: Zalavár, Diás (Kisbalaton). - V and IX. Apanteles clepta Tobias, 1986 - Among all Hungarian Apanteles species within the glomeratus-group its conspicuously short antenna is striking; first eight to ten joints of flagellum 1.3-1.2 times as long as broad, further joints subcubic to cubic. Mesonotum punctate, interspaces shiny. Inner spur of hind tibia clearly longer than half basitarsus. Previously named by me as A. placidus (Haliday). - Distribution: Described recently from Moldavia (USSR), new to the fauna of Hungary.
