pendage long almost parallel sided, but tapering in ventral aspect and armed with a longer subapical tooth and several smaller ones below. Phallic apparatus forms an upcurving tube with a dorsal sclerotized process. The sclerotized part continues in a membraBous irregular tube-like process. The structure of genitalia, fifth and sixth abdominal segments clearly relate this species to Synagapetus subgenus " rudis" group and " mitis" subgroup. The tripartite ventral branch, the toothed dorsal lobe of the tenth segment differentiate this species from all the known species in this subgroup. I name the species according to its abortive origin. Abortive: desom in Vietnamese. I Holotype 8. Tarn Dao, Vietnam, waterfall, 21.1.1986. leg. Oláh. Singled from underwater stones. Paratypes: metamorphotypes 4 8, same data as for holotype. Deposited at the Zoological Department, Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Caustic potash-treated abdomen and the remaining part of the body as well as the pupal case and the cocoon with larval sclerites are stored in a single selfstanding airtight vial filled with 70% ethanol together with the 4 8 metamorphotypes. Agapetus danbang sp. n. (Fig. 4) Male (in alcohol). Uniform brown animal. Wing membrane brown, hairs darker. On fore wing whitish hyaline area along the costal tip of Sc, along the thyridial cell and the whole cell between A^ and A2 lighter. On hind wing ending on Sc somewhat beyond anastomosis. Rj lis almost absolete. Cross-vein r present and well developed. Sc long, ending on C well beyond anastomosis, fork 1 absent. Length and largest width of fore wing 3. 8-1.3, those of hind wing 3-1 mm. Fifth abdominal sternite with an unmodified lateral ridge and sixth sternite with a medium-sized narrow apicomesal process. E Fig. 4. Agapetus danbang sp. n. - A= male genitalia, lateral, B= dorsal, C= ventral, D= phallic apparatus, lateral, E= fifth and sixth abdominal sternites, lateral Male genitalia. Ninth abdominal segment subtriangular, synsclerotized. The upper long triangular lobe of tenth tergite bears a dorsal, heavily chitinized, downcurving small digitate protuberance with a long filament. The lower branch of tenth segment arising from the basement of the long, back-curving whip. The superior appendages stout digitate outcurving in dorsal aspect. Inferior appendages subrectangular with downward directed distal lower angle. In ventral aspect the inner surface armed with several teeth. Phallic apparatus tube-like. Phallotheca with a dorsal sclerotized tapering rod. Aedeagus tapering, midway on the dorsum a moderately long slender unpaired paramere. Just above the phallic apparatus a saddle-shaped sclerite well visible similarly tn A. dangoru m . In this species this sclerite
