Thoracic chaetotaxy: 1 supracoxal, 1 h, 2 np, 1 prst, 1 sa, 2 long pa, 0 + 3 de, 1 prsc. 2 sc. 1 mp, 1 shorter and thinner anterior and 1 thick and long posterior st. Mesopleuron with ca. 15 short hairs, acmi in 4 rows between the anterior pair of de, also medial rows of acmi short. Legs concolorous with body (except for fore tarsi), preapicals on all tibiae, legs without any peculiarities. Wing pale yellow, veins somewhat darker yellow. Dark fringe of costa on ca. proximal 1/6 of the section mgg. Distal section of medial vein 1.66 times as long as intracrossvein section on the holoFigs 8-10. Sapromyza schnabli sp. n., paratype male - 8: preabdomen - 9: aedeagal complex in caudal view - 10:.aedeagal complex in lateral view (scales: 0.2 mm for Figs 9-10, same as in Fig. 1 for Fig. 8)
