Ap. 2 long, fused with ap. se)., latter thick, medially straight. Ap. 4 also very thick, whole sternocoxal region well chltinized. Epimeres 1, 3 and 4 bearing well-developed suckers. Adhering plate also very large, occupying entire body surface behind and partly between legs IV. Median pairs of suckers much larger than the others. Legs: Joints of legs I and II (Figs 11-12) stout. Group of solenidia of leg I. with 4 members, v)l conspicuously long, longer than half the length of tarsus, tf>i slightly longer than it. Soledium u)l of leg II (Fig. 12) longer than U?j . Setae v of femora of both anterior legs thick and spiniform. Terminal setae of leg III (Fig. 13) setiform, long, the same setae on leg IV (Fig. 14) much shorter and blunt. Seta v on femur IV also thick and spiniform. Type material: Holotype (1257-HA-87): Szentendre, com. Pest, 7.VII. 1986. Silage, leg. S.A. ERAKY; 5 paratypes: from the same sample. Holotype and 4 paratype (1257-PA-87) deposited in the HNHM and 1 paratype in the MHNG. Remarks: The new species is distinguished from all heretofore known Histiostoma species by the unique surface of the hysterosoma and by the thick, spiniform ventral seta of femora. We dedicate the new species to our assistant for her help, Mrs. Magdalena HAJDÚ (Budapest). Histiostoma woolleyi sp. n. Measurements. - Length: 149-152 urn, width: 103-106 um. Dorsal side (Fig. 15): Propodosoma large, broad, rostrum rounded, whole anterior margin convex. Its surface with a characteristic pattern of arcuate lines. Both pairs of setae straight, inFigs 15-16.
