General appearance similar to the other Ceritaxa species, particularly to Ceritaxa rhopalocera (Scheerpeltz, 1958). Body somewhat depressed, finely and isodiametrically reticulated, weakly greasily shining; its punctuation indistinct; pitchy black, antennae, particularly two basal segments, mouthparts, pronotum, elytra, abdominal segments I-TV and VIII as well as legs reddish brown or reddish. Head transverse quadrangular, finely and densely reticulated; its punctuation indistinct. Eyes weakly convex, hardly shorter than temple. Temples bordered over their whole length. Antennae relatively short, thick and weakly fusiform (Fig. 6). Antenna! segment III as long as segment II; segment TV shorter than segment III; segments TV-X transverse, 1.5-2 times broader than long; segment XI large, as long as segments IX and X together. Pronotum transverse quadrangular, 1.2 times broader than long, widest at middle, arcuately narrowing toward apex and base; its basal margin arched; its posterior angles rounded, obtuseangled. Reticulation and punctuation of pronotum similar to those of head. Hairs of pronotum directed rearwards at longitudinal midline and directed obliquely rearwards and toward lateral margin elsewhere. Inclined lateral margin of pronotum visible at lateral aspect. Elytra approximately parallel-sided, longer than pronotum; its suture as long as pronotum. Reticulation and punctuation of elytra similar to those of head and pronotum. Posterior margin of elytra almost straight; its outer posterior angles weakly emarginated (Fig. 5). Abdomen approximately parallel-sided; its tergites finely and densely reticulated, its punctuation indistinct, its pubescence scattered. Abdominal tergites III-V with a transversal impression at base. Posterior margin of tergite VII narrowly bordered by a pellicle. Posterior margin of tergite VIII with a small emargination at middle (Fig. 7). Posterior margin of sternite VIII rounded with a very shallow sinuation at middle.
