Prodorsum: Rostrum with one very broad incision on each side, apex rounded anteriorly (Fig. 42). Rostral setae inserted on small tubercles, well-ciliate. Lamellae rounded anteriorly, trans­lamella not observed. Lamellar setae arising under of the lamellar cuspis short, thick, spiniform, with thick spicules on their outer surface. Interlamellar setae comparatively short, not reaching to the rostrum, insertion points hidden under the anterior notogastral margin. Sensillus clavate, its head gradually thickened distally, with short spines laterally. Tutorium well developed, with strong but simple, triangular cuspis. Notogaster: Very broad. Ten pairs of short notogastral setae la and lm stand much farther from each other than the distance between them (Fig. 39). Lateral part of podosoma: Pedotecta 1 very large and broad. Surface ornamented by trans­versal ribs basally, and longer, longitudinal rugae anteriorly (Fig. 41). Pedotecta 2-3 rounded. Discidium large, its margin bent inwards, custotium short, comparatively broad. Coxisternal region: Apodeme 2 much shorter than sejugal one Epimeral surface with irregular spots. Epimeral setae short, lateral setae thicker and more clliate than the Inner ones (Fig. 40). Anogenital region: All setae of this region short and simple. Only two pairs of adanal setae present, both pairs arising near the posterior corner of the anal aperture. Legs: All legs tridactylous; strong heterodactylia present. Some setae of legs thickened (among others I" on tibia and genu). A well-developed crest present on femur II (Fig. 43) dorsally, some others ventrally on femora of legs in and TV. Genua I and II with a strong ventral spur each. Type material: Holotype (1255-HO-87): Afr. 211: Nigeria, Bauchi State, Yankari game reserve, Wikld, bark of tree, 22. VII. 1978. leg. A. DEMETER; deposited in the HNHM. Remarks: Into the Hypozetes Balogh, 1959 seven species were described, of which H. philip- pinensis Corpus-Raros, 1979 does not belong here and it should be transferred to the genus Cerato­zetes.
