S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 47/1-2. (Budapest, 1986)
mandu) 1 £ holotype (Biosystematics Research Institute, Ottawa) No. 19196 (HT). o_ . - Length 5.6 mm. Black, mandible, clypeus, antenna except upper side of the last 7 joints, tibiae and tarsi largely, trochanters and a spot on femora basally and apically, abdominal segments 3 posteriorly, 4-6 entirely yellowish red, tergites 1 especially laterally, 2-3 only posteriorly dark reddish translucent, tegulae dark brown. Wings normal, fore wing brownish infuscated, basis, a band outside of cells hyaline, along outer margins slightly lighter brown, pterostigma light brown, veins dark brown. Wings covered with brownish, body, including eye with white scattered hairs, tergites only with loose hairs. Head elongated, 1.13 times longer than broad (35:31), broadened behind eyes, arcuately convergent towards occiput, occipital carina slightly concave, with a row of moderate pits before carina medially; frons shagreened, with deeper, larger and dense punctures, interspaces everywhere narrower than punctures, frontal sulcus rather broad; ocelli in an acute angle, posterior ocelli separated from each other by two-thirds the distance of that between an ocellus and an eye, POL: OOL = 4:6, outer margins of ocelli with a distinct groove; eye large, elongated, longer than broad (13:11), separated from mandibles by hardly longer distance than two-thirds length of an eye (8:13); anterior margin of clypeus semicircularly protruding only medially (similar to S. nigroalatus Móczár), on both sides with obtuse-angled corners, lateral margins strongly diverging, surface with a sharp and high keel longitudinally in the middle; antennae stout, only joints 1-3 slender, flagellum thickened medially, scape apically, latter nearly as long as joints 2-4 together, 3 longer than 2, 4 longer than 5, 6-12 about as long as broad or partly broader, length (and breadth) proportions of antenna! joints 1-5 = 14(5): 5(4): 6(5): 4(4): 3(5). Pronotum 1.2 times broader in front than long medially (23:19) (without collar), collar irregularly finely sculptured posteriorly and with a row of larger foveae along anterior margin, lateral corners slightly protruding anteriorly, lateral sides slightly concave, posterior margin emarginated and depressed only laterally (as S. nigroalatus Móczár), longitudinal furrow deep, ending before posterior margin, surface scarcely shining, shagreened with dense and larger punctures similar to head. Mesonotum shagreened, weakly shining, notaulices very deep and sharply margined, parapsidal furrow shallower, longitudinal furrow shallow, developed only in a fine line distally. Transversal furrow between mesonotum and scutellum deep with a pair of deep pits beside scutellum. Scutellum with scattered deep punctures more laterally and posteriorly, basal sulcus absent. Propodeum hardly shorter than its half breadth before spines (14:16), lateral sides gradually divergent posteriorly, all carinae and areas well developed, sublateral area with distinct transverse wrinkles, lateral spine very acute (viewed from above), obtuse (from the side) and strong, as long as about twothirds length of propodeum (9) or latter 1.55 times longer than spine. Lateral side of propodeum wrinkled diagonally, with horizontal and a vertical row of foveae along the upper and posterior margins of disc, which bordered by distinct carinae running parallel with upper and posterior margins, carinae fusing before reaching spine. Mesepisternum deeply and densely punctured. Abdominal tergite 1 smooth, polished, with some fine punctures on disc anterio-medially, 2 granulated basally, rather deeply and scatteredly punctured medially, gradually sparser and smooth polished posteriorly, more deeply and densely punctured laterally except the smooth polished triangular area in front, among the larger punctures there are also smaller ones, interspaces here and there as large as punctures. Posterior margin of tergite 2 finely alutaceous, tergites 3-5 broadly semicircularly impressed in the middle. Sternite 2 with deep and also with smaller punctures, interspaces several times larger than punctures medially, punctures denser laterally. This species is related to S. nigroalatus Móczár (1984a), but differs from it chiefly by the characters as follows: S. godavarensis sp. n. S. nigroalatus Móczár Frontal sulcus broad. Frontal sulcus indistinct. Tergite 2 rather deeply and scatteredly punctured medially, laterally also with dense smaller punctures among the larger ones. Interspaces between punctures of sternite 2 several times larger than punctures medially. Head and pronotum with deeper, larger and dense punctures. Tergite 2 with distinct and scattered punctures medially, extremely dense punctures laterally without smaller ones. Interspaces between punctures of sternite 2 as large as punctures. Head and pronotum with scattered and larger punctures.
