FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK XL VI. 2 1985 p. 139-141 Two new Trichoptera from Bhutan By J. OLÁH (Received 8 October, 1984) Abstract: Two new Trichoptera species from'Bhutan are described and illustrated with detailed genital and wing drawings: Psychomyia bhutana sp, n., Setodes fragilis sp.n. Only seven specimens of caddis flies were collected by A. Péteri along the Galo River near Hatisar, Bhutan by sweeping while performing his F AO consultancy on fish culture there. Four specimens, two males and two females belong to Cheumatopsyche ningmapa Schmid, 1975, while the remaining three specimens represent two new species. Their descriptions follow. Psychomyia bhutana sp. n. (Fig. 1) Male (in alcohol). General colour light brown. Maxillary palpi with 5 Joints. Spurs .2.4.4. Length and largest width of fore wings 3.5-0.8, those of hindwings 2.8-0.5 mm. On fore wing discoidal cell broadest and shortest, median cell longest and thyridial cell narrowest. Discoidal and thyridial cells clearly closed as is median cell, although the cross-vein almost vestigial and poorly visible even at higher magnification. On hind wing Sc long. Rl very short, appearing like a cross-vein, while reaching Sc at its middle, about the very produced costal angle. F2 very large, F3 small on hind wing. Male genitalia. Ninth sternite produced in a deep, strongly sclerotized genital cavity housing practically alone the rather elongate and multicurved phallic apparatus. The open dorsum covered by the eighth tergite instead of its own ninth tergite which produced strongly caudad. The ninth tergite deeply divided as visible both in dorsal and ventral views producing two heavily sclerotized, black processes with tapering apices and with a subapical median excision. The ninth tergite almost completely fused to the superior appendages. Later elongate dorsoventrally flattened rod densely covered with long hairs. Hairs on their median area regularly back curving. Tenth tergite seemingly vestigial although the median area between the more sclerotized lateral bands of the ninth tergite hard to homologlze. First Joints of inferior appendages much shortened and fused together and concealed into the ventral posterior angle of the ninth sternite. Second Joints slender elongate spiniform processes curving upward and inward. Small defined protuberances located at about basal third on ventromedian region with one or two small tip setae. Phallix apparatus completely concealed into the ninth sternite. Phallotheca particularly elongated comprising practically the whole apparatus. Its S-shaped tube starting with a funnel-like proximal end and ending in the hook-like distal apex. Later seems to represent the aedeagus.
