splnosus group" and from any other known species of the genus Pygmephorus Kramer, 1877. We dedicate the new species to Dr.R.L. SMILEY, the excellent specialist of Tarsonemids. 2 very short, smooth. Ventral side (Fig. 12): All apodemes well discernible, ap. 4 long, but not reaching to lateral margin of sternal plate, its distal end ramified. Among epimeral setae la (Fig. 15) much thicker and more heavily ciliate than the others, setae 2b spiniform. Setae 3a (Fig. 22) shorter than 3b and arising before the latter, setae 4b the longest of all epimeral setae, but not reaching to posterior end of body. Remarks: The new species is characterized first of all by the reduced claw of leg 1. This character was unknown in the genus Imparipes Berlese, 1903.
