tergite 2 deeply and extremely densely punctured (figs 18, 20, 22-23, 28, 31), spaces between punctures at the densest part narrower than punctures. Six species are known from the Ethiopian (South African province) and from Oriental territory (Sri Lanka fauna province, 3 from the latter. Type-species: Pycnomesitius densepunctatus Móczár, 1971 Females and males o_ : Antenna! joints 2 or 3-13 relative short, more joints of equal or nearly equal length and breadth, sometimes shorter than broad. Spaces between punctures of abdomen not shagreened, shining ó 1 : all antennái joints distinctly longer than broad and with procinate dense hairs (fig. 16). Head reddish Lateral spines of propodeum about as long as three-fourths length of propodeum medially (11 : 14). Propodeum only two-thirds as long medially as half diameter transversally (15 : 25). Head, scutellum, legs, excepting femora and tibiae in one specimen thorax excepting ventral side of propodeum yellowish red, abdomen black, only tergites 1-2 laterally dark reddish translucent, segment 4-6 yellowish brown. Tergite 2 deeply and densely punctured, interspaces strewn with small punctures (fig. 18), punctation distinctly denser laterally. 5 mm krombelnl (Nagy, 1968) Lateral spines remarkably shorter, at most two-thirds as long as propodeum. Last abdominal segments brownish or reddish. Thorax black, not red, at most pronotal margins reddish translucent. Head, antennae and legs parfly, segments 3-6 yellowish red or red Lateral spines of propodeum quite dull, acute in superior view (fig. 21) truncate in lateral view. Eyes separated from mandibles by about three-quarters of eyelength (13 : 16). Antennái joints 1-5, lower side of the other ones reddish black. Whole abdominal segment 3 yellowish red. Punctation of sternite 2 deeper and less dense than on tergite 2. Pronotal and mesonotal furrow gradually deepening, well margined (fig. 24). Tergite 2 very densely and deeply punctured, also laterally with minute punctures (fig. 22-23). 6 mm krombelnicus (Móczár, 1977) Lateral spine acute (figs 29-30) also in lateral view. Eyes separated from mandibles by two-thirds of length of eyes (12 : 19). Antennae yellowish brown excepting brown upper side of joints 5-13, as well as tips of 3-4.Only posterior half of segment 3 reddish. Sternite 2 with very dense and deep punctures, intespaces also here smaller than punctures. Mesonotal deepening shallower (fig. 29), nevertheless deeper and narrower than on male (fig. 25 o).Tergite 2 with very dense and deep punctures (fig. 31). 5 mm hirashimai (Móczár, 1981) o_ nov. Lateral spines of propodeum very short (fig. 25), length of propodeum two and a half times longer than spine. Thorax entirely black, lower side of antenna! joints 1-6, partly legs yellowish brown. Mesonotal furrow present only as an obscurely margined, shallow, moderately shining impression in posterior third (figs 25-26). Propodeum slightly shorter than half diameter of disc transversally (25 : 28). Tergite 1 with dense and deep punctures medially and laterally (fig. 27), tergite 2 with smaller punctures among larger ones (fig. 28), also laterally. Longitudinal sulcus of pronotum narrow, deep only in front (fig. 26). 4.5 mm hirashimai (Móczár, 1981) Lateral spines longer (fig. 19), nearly two-thirds as long as propodeum. Mesonotum with some darkening basally, pronotum, scutellum, lower side of antennae, legs excepting femora and tibiae, yellowish red, propodeum black. Mesonotal furrow deeper (fig. 19), developed even on its proximal part. Propodeum distinctly shorter, only two-thirds as long as half diameter of disc (fig. 19). Tergite 1 shining with a transverse median row of dense punctures, tergite 2 with two kinds of punctures medially also laterally, there are smaller punctures among larger and deeper ones (fig. 20).Pronotum only with a trace of longitudinal groove (fig. 17). 4.5 mm krombelnl (Nagy. 1968)
