Identification key to the species and subspecies of N. verticalis group 1 (2) Base of hind coxae with 2-3 setae, sternits 3-5 with 3-6 setae on each side, anal sternit in male with 4 setae on hind margin. Pronotum - fig. 118. 13.4-14.8 mm N. motschulskyi Chaud. 2 (1) Base of hind coxae unisetose, sternits 3-5 unisetose or rarely with 2-3 setae on the each side, anal sternit in male with 2 setae on hind margin. 3 (4) Base of mentum with 4-6 setae. Elytra with greenish or violet lustre. Sternits 3-5 with 2-3 setae on the each side, rarely proportion of setae 1+2. Pronotum - fig. 114. 12.314.3 mm N. barbimentosa ssp.n. 4 (3) Base of mentum with 2 setae. 5 (6) Elytra with greenish lustre (very rarely uniformly black - ab. lederi Reitt.) Pronotum Figs 111-113. 10.8-13.1 mm N. commixta Chaud. 6 (5) Elytra without greenish lustre. 7 (10) Pronotum (Figs 115, 116) 1.53-1.65 times as wide as head, with very strongly dilated and reflexed lateral sides, margins densely and rather coarsely punctate. 8 (9) Legs black. Pronotum (fig. 115) 1.45-1.60 times as wide as long, with stronger reflexed lateral sides, elytra 1.58-1.64 times as long as wide. 12.8-15.9 mm N. verticalis verticalis F. -W. 9 (8) Legs entirely dark red or tibiae infuscated. Pronotum (fig. 116) 1,36-1.46 times as wide as long, with less strongly reflexed lateral sides, elytra 1.64-1.76 times as long as wide. 13.4-14.1 mm N. verticalis animosa ssp.n. 10 (7) Pronotum (Figs 117, 155-157) 1.32-1.57 times as wide as head, lateral sides less dilated and reflexed, punctures of margins not so dense. 11 (12) Pronotum (fig. 117) 1.28-1.39 times as wide as long, lateral sides narrowly reflexed. Elytra 1.65-1.83 times as long as wide, interval 3 with 3-5 i small setiferous pores. Submentum with row of 6-8 setae. Sternits 3-5 with 1-3 setae on the each side. 11.0-13.3 mm N. patruelis Chaud. 12 (11) Pronotum 1.39-1.66 times as wide as long, lateral sides more widely reflexed. Elytra 1.43-1.64 times as long as wide, interval 3 with 5-9 setiferous pores. Submentum with row of 8-10 setae. Sternits 3-5 unisetose. 13 (14) Pronotum (fig, 155) 1.32-1.41 times as wide as head, 1.39-1.49 times as wide as long, lateral sides narrowly reflexed and more densely punctate. Elytra more parallel, I. 38-1.44 times as wide as pronotum, widest in apical third. Microsculpture on head, pronotum and elytra practically uniform, consisting of very short transverse meshes. II. 8-12.9 mm N. faldermanni faldermanni Mén. 14 (13) Pronotum (Figs 156, 157) 1.35-1.57 times as wide as head, 1.47-1.66 times as wide as long, lateral sides widely reflexed, and more sparsely punctate. Elytra more strongly rounded at sides, 1,29-1.44 times as wide as pronotum, widest at middle. Microsculpture on head and pronotum consisting of short transverse meshes, on elytra meshes narrower and longer. 15 (16) Pronotum (fig. 156) 1.43-1.53 times as wide as head, 1.47-1.56 times as wide as long.
