Pitchy black rarely dark piceous, head with two indistinct dark red spots, antennae, palpi and legs blackish piceous, or tibiae, tarsi (rarely legs entirely) and antennae piceous. Head with distinct transverse impression, deeper than in other species. Pronotum (fig. 85) fairly convex, 1.27-1.40 times as wide as head, 1,18-1.30 times as wide as long, weakly rounded at sides, gently sinuated before acute hind angles, apical angles short and rounded; sides very narrowly flattened and reflexed, lateral reflections slightly widened towards base, basal foveae rather deep and wide, basal area and lateral reflections with small and not dense punctures. Elytra elongate ovate, fairly convex, 1.45-1,62 times as wide as pronotum, 1.59-1.80 times as long as wide, widest in apical third, uniformly rounded at sides, narrowed towards distinctly prominent shoulders. Striae rather deep and strongly punctate, intervals fairly convex, interval 3 without pores or with 1-2 small pores apically, scutellar pores absent, rarely present. Figs 98-104.
