Apanteles vindicius Nixon, 1965 - Hind corner of propodeum raised, horizontal fore half of propodeum dull and densely rugo-rugulose, vertical hind half shiny and with a few transverse rugosities. Metacarp longer than stigma. Head behind eyes rather rounded. Tegula pale yellow to yellow, stigma evenly blackish brown. - Distribution: described from Venezia (Italy), up to now recorded from Hungary, Bulgaria, the USSR (Georgia, Daghestan), Korea. Supposedly a Palaearctic species. Locality: - 1 g: Tompa. - IX. The FALCATUS-group Apanteles falcatus (Nees, 1834) (? - neomexicanus Muesebeck, 1921) - Inhabits the mountain­subalpine regions within its distribution in the Palaearctic Region. In Hungary collected only in our Mountain Range from Vértes-Pilis to Sátor Mts. Localities: - 2 o: Budakeszi, Hársbokorhegy. 1 Ç: Budapest. 3 J: Bükk Mts., Bálvány. 2 g: Bükk Mts., Csipkéskút. 1 ç + 1 cf: Bükk Mts., Létrástető. 2 g: Dobogókő. 4 g + 2 o": Füzér, Milic. 1 g: Háromhuta, Istvánkút. 6 g + 1 cT: Háromhuta, Mlaka rét. 2 g: Mátra Mts., Galya­tető. 1 g: Mátra Mts., Kékestető. 1 g: Mátraszentimre. 1 g: Pilisszántó, Pilis Mt. 2 g: Telki­bánya, Kutyaszorító, 1 g: Vértes Mts., Fáni-völgy. - VI-VIII, mainly in July. The VA LIDUS-group Apanteles validus Thomson, 1895 - Body glistening. Its areolet (Cu2 with rl) is very similar to that of a few Protomicroplitis species, a feature separating it from all other Apanteles species. Metacarp longer than stigma. Mesonotum with discrete, rather dense and posteriorly gradually weakening punctation. Hypopygium in lateral view pointed. Wings more or less brownish fumous. - Distribution: So far known sporadically from Sweden, Finland, England and Netherland. New to the fauna of Slovakia (ŐSSR). A rare species. Localities in Slovakia: - 1 j: Bártfa (= Bardejov), res;. Becherovská. 1 cf: Szlovák Érchegy­ség, Drábsko, rezerv., 1000-1100 m. - VI-VII. The CARBON ARIUS-group Apanteles carbonarius (Wesmael, 1837) (= anomalus Lyle, 1925) - First tergite with parallel­subparallel sides, 1.2-1.3 times as long as wide at base. Second tergite transverse, 2.5(-3) times wider behind than long medially. Propodeum smooth to polished, with a medio-longitudinal carina and along it with rather transverse and short rugulae. Metacarp longer than stigma. Tegula black or brownish black. - Distribution: Europe and Mongolia. In Hungary rare, so far no female has been collected. Localities: - 2 cf: Kőszeg, Chernel-kert. 1 cf: Vác-Sződ. - VI. Apanteles rimulosus Niezabitowski, 1910 Apanteles rimulosus Niezabitowski, 1910, Spraw.Kom. fizygr. (Krakow), 44: 77, g cf, locus typicus: Rytro, Poland. Apanteles comes Wilkinson, 1940, Proc. R, ent. Soc. Load., 9(B): 161, o cf , locus typicus: Dartford Heath, England, syn.n. First tergite clearly longer than wide, 1.6-1.9 times longer than wide at base, with mode­rately converging sides posteriorly. Third tergite weakly to very weakly sculptured, usually chagreened. Metacarp as long as or slightly shorter than stigma. Tegula brownish yellow. ­Distribution: Widely distributed in the western Palaearctic Region from England to Kazakhstan and Uzbeghistan in the USSR. New to the fauna of Hungary. On the basis of the original descriptions the name A. comes Wilk. is a junior synonym of A. rimulosus Niez. In December 1980 I was searching for the type/s/ of A. rimulosus in vain in the remains of NIEZABITOWSKI' s Collection now deposited in the Biological Department of the Pedagogic College at Kielce (Poland). 130
