NoteB on the interrelationships of the species The subgenus forms a distinct natural group with at least one known unique character, the fused trochanter and femur on each leg. Now with males of all four species and male genitalia of three species known (unfortunately those of Aradus (Miraradus) oervendetes Vásárhelyi, 1980 unknown), interrelationships within the subgenus and also with other related species can be investigated . Aradus (Aradus) orientális Bergroth, 1855 and A. (A.) bergrothlanus Kiritshenko, 1913 were considered already by KIRITSHENKO (1913) among the closest relatives of mirabilis (the type species of the subgenus Miraradus) . Tip of abdomen of the male (for bergrothlanus see Fig. 14) is similar in 1:2:1 pattern of ventral glabrous areas, but spiracle Vn Is ventral, and this character Is shared with foliaceus only. In two parts of the male genitalia considerable reduction can be observed. Tergite IX without protruding structure in the three species known. Parandrium ia also much reduced, in mirablllB It is only a small longish scale, with some hairs. Paramere, however, is very broad and strongly curved within Miraradus (for comparison see Figs. 13, 15). Figs 13-15. 13 = male genitalia of Aradus (Aradus) orientális, dorsal view - 14 = tip of abdomen of Aradus (Aradus) bergrothlanus male, ventral view - 15 = male genitalia of the same species, dorsal view A possible picture of interrelationships of the known species within the subgenus is presented below. In the cladogram numbers refer to characters considered as (syn)apomorphous and appearing unique to the branches
