Up to now recorded from a few localities in England, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and in the European part of the USSR. Locality. 1 g: Egyek, Ohati erdő, IV. MicroplitlB ochracea Szépligeti, 1896 Body of female reddish yellow to testaceous, head black; that of male blackish with variable reddish to reddish yellow pattern on mesonotum and tergites. Vertex anteriorly and scrobe above ven-subpunctate to subrugulose, shiny. First tergite as long as, or at most somewhat longer :han, wide at hind. Tergite 1 rugose, tergite 2 less rugose though always sculptured. Metacarp distinctly shorter than stigma. - Distribution: Described from Hungary; recorded from the USSR •European part, Azerbaidzhan, Soviet Middle Asia), Iran and Mongolia; first reported from Korfu (Greece). Localities. 1 g (holotype, Hym. Typ. No.473) + 1 j: Budapest, Csepel, 25 VII 1886. 1 g: Budapest, Rákos. 1 6: Nagynyír. 2 cf: Tompa. - VI-Vn, IX, XI; 3 o + 3 tf. K icroplitis pcüucida Telenga, 1955 Head in dorsal view behind eye feebly though distinctly broader between temples than betweer eyes, less frequently as broad between temples as between eyes. First tergite usually 1.51.7 times, and at most twice, longer than wide before its hind end; its sides more or less diverging posteriorly. Colour of body very variable. Stigma either fully yellow or dark with a large yellow basal spot. - Distribution: the USSR ("Barnaul"), Hungary, the Netherlands, Denmark. New to the fauna of Hungary. Localities. 1 g: Dömsöd, Apajpuszta. 1 g: Ágasegyháza. 1 g: Bércei. 1 tf: Budapest, Mátyásföld. 1 g: Csévharaszt. 1 j + 2 Gyula, csatomapart. 1 tf: Gyula, Póstelekl erdo. 1 Q: Gyula, Szanazug. 1 cf: Körtvélyes. 1 g: Ócsá, Nagyerdő. 4 g: Tiszafüred. - V-VII and IX, frequent In July; 11 g + 6 cf. Microplitis sofron Nixon, 1970 Head in dorsal view less transverse, 1.8 times broader than long. Basal third of stigma with a yellow to vivid yellow spot. First tergite either feebly broadening distally, or, less frequently, parallel-sided; twice or almost twice as long as its greatest width, rl somewhat mor . oblique to fore margin of stigma, and more clearly directed towards tip of wing than usually. Distribution: It appears to be a frequent species in the western Palaearctic Region. New to thi fauna of Hungary. Localities. A frequent species in Hungary; known in the Pannonicum district from 22, in the Matricum district from 19 and in the Illyricum district from 2 localities. Microplitis strenua Reinhard, 1880 For a long time this species has been either misinterpreted or incorrectly identified. Similar to M. spectabilis (Haliday) though its body relatively more gracile and less long (1.8-2.4 mm, that of M. spectabilis 2-2.8 mm). Penultimate joint of antenna 1.2-1.3 times as long as broad, sometimes subcubic. Head less transverse, 1.6-1.7 times broader than long. Nor 3llus of hind wing straightto feebly incurved. - Distribution: England, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Armenia (USSR). In Hungary a rare species. Locality. 1 g: Bodajk, Gaja-szurdok, VHI. (recorded by me as M. mediator Hal. , Papp 1973). Microplitis tadzhica Telenga, 1949 • Metasoma either entirely reddish yellow (g) or rarely first tergite dark (g 5), or end of metasoma (last 2-3 tergites) more or less blackish (6), First tergite (of the Hungarian specimens) hardly longer than broad at hind and more broadening posteriorly. Second tergite rugulose-subrugulose. Scape, tegula and legs reddish yellow. - Distribution: Sporadically in France and Hungary, rather frequent in the USSR as far eastwards as Tadzhikistan; reported also from Afghanistan (under the synonymous name M. intermedia Hedwig). Localities. 1 6: Balatonszéplak, Tóközpuszta. 1 6': Balatonszéplak, Töreki láp. 1 g: Dömsöd, Apajpuszta. 1 í: Fonyód. 1 i: Szabadszállás, Klsrét, swept in an Artemisio-Festucetum pseudovlnae. - V, VH-VIII; 1 g + 4 cf .
