Head of Lasius hayashi Yamauchi et Hayashida in dorsal view Larix forest and in the Okra dong valley. The Gang-von samples are quite typical being unicolorous greyish black with no appendage hairs on the antenna! scapes or fore tibiae. L asius hayashi Yamauchi et Hayashida - Locality Nos. 194, 196 Ryang Gang Province; 273, 276 South Pyongan Province; 304, 305 Pyong Sang Province; 315 Gang-von Province. 09 66. - These were taken variously by sweeping in woodland areas. Lasius flavus (Fabricius) - Locality No. 275 Ryang Gang Province, Hyesan, Mt Ze-dong 1150 m, 1 jj>; 322 Gang-von Province On-Dzong Kum-gang san, 1 p. - Both specimens are typical La sius flavus queens and are recorded from North Korea for the first time. The Ryang Gang example was taken by singling along the edge of a Larix wood while the Gang-von example was collected by mv light trap in a conifer/Robinia woodland. Lasius fuliginosus (Latreille). Locality Nos. 324 Gang-von Province On-dzong district; 331 Pyong-Sung, Bek-sung-11, Za-mo san. - These were taken by sweeping along the Ok-radong and also in Castanea woodland in baited soil traps.
