Dacnodes blaffra (Bormans, 1903) Pygidlcrana blaffra Bormans (apud Burr), 1903, Ann.Mag.nat.Hist., (7) 11: 232. - Terra typica: Cameroons. Blackish species, but legs and tegmina brownish or brown to dark brown. Tegmina fully developed, wings short. Abdomen moderately expanded in caudal portion, finely pubescent. Ultimate tergite quadrate. Forceps slender, simple, subcontiguous . Genitalia (Fig. 6) very large; paramere with small median incision at anterior margin. Genital lobes with thick virgae. External paramere of Dacnodestype; inner process with two teeth. Material examined: Cameroun, 1949-50, 7/12 - /7/, Lok. Despieu, J.B.-S. J.D., 1 female. Distribution: Cameroons, Belgian Congo. Dacnodes caffra (Dohm, 1867) Pygidlcrana caffra Dohm, 1867, Stett.ent. Zeit., 28: 343. - Terra typica: "Caffraria". Varicoloured species. Yellowish brown anteriorly, a large frontal spot and posterior and lateral margins of head dark brown. Two longitudinal dark bands on pronotum, forming a V; tegmina dark brown, lateral margins and an elongated humeral patch yellowish; legs yellow with faint darker stripes; abdomen blackish. Male forceps symmetrical, curved rather strongly for basal two-thirds, distal third contiguous, and inner margins of distal part with rounded teeth. Genitalia (Fig. 7) of Dacnodestype; virgae straight, moderately short; external parameres with two teeth at inner process. Material examined: Kenya, Tiwi Beaches, 04° 14' S, and 39°, 36" E. 14-23. Head longer than broad; frons and occiput equally and very slightly convex; postfrontal sutures distinct, coronal suture long. Abdomen gradually expanded from proximal segment to last tergite. Forceps subcontiguous, trigonal, asymmetrical, right more curved and bent over left. Genitalia (Fig. 8) elongate; paramere narrower basally; anterior margin with small median incision; genital lobes relatively short, virga of Paracranopygia-type. Inner process of external paramere small, dentiform, pointed; outer process obtuse. Material examined: Banjoe, Birme, Klein, gen.prep. No. 716, det. Dr.H. Steinmann, 1 male. Distribution: Equatorial and extending southwards into the southern region of Africa.
