Ocelli small, distance between two ocelli about thrice as long as diameter of an ocellus. OOL 1.8 times longer than POL. Eye in lateral view relatively small (Fig. 14). Head polished. Mandible (Fig. 13) slightly longer at middle than broad between tip of upper and lower denticules; middle denticule pointed, upper and lower denticules rounded. Antenna as long as head, thorax and first tergite together, with 17 joints. First flagellar joint 1.7 times longer than second joint, further joints about equal In length, middle joints (i.e. flagellar joints 6-10) slightly broader than proximal or distal joints. Thorax in lateral- view somewhat longer than high (40:35). Mesonotal dimple linear, approach­ing prescutellar furrow. Mesonotum slightly longer medially than wide between tegulae. Notaulix indistinct. Sternaulix narrow and with very fine crenulation. Thorax polished. Propodeum smooth, with very fine crenulation. Thorax polished. Propodeum smooth, with a medio-longitudinal carina and close along it rugulose. Legs, especially third leg, thin (Fig. 16). Hind basitarsus 9 times longer than broad. Hind tarsal joints 2-3 equal in length with basitarsus. - Fore wing somewhat longer than body. Radial vein approaching tip of wing. Abdomen as long as head and thorax together. First tergite one-third longer than wide at hind, evenly broadening posteriorly, smooth and shiny. Further tergites polished. Head and thorax black, abdomen blackish brown to dark brown. Mandible yellow with brown margins. Palpi pale fumous. Legs brown to yellowish brown, coxae dark brown. Wings hyaline; stigma, metacarp, rl-2 with dark, otherwise venation with light to pale pigmentation. è and host unknown. Locality: "Tunesia, Degach, 15.IV. 1977, No. 116, leg. S. Mahunka", 1 o_ (holotype). ­Holotype deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym.Typ. No. 2886. Aphaereta difficilis Nixon, 1938 - 1 o\ "Mahares pr. Sfax - Tunisia, Biró". - Reported spo­radically from South and Central Europe, described from Morocco. New to the fauna of Tunisia. £. Body 2.8-2.9 mm long, of usual Phaenocarpa form. Head in dorsal view transverse, 1.9-2 times broader than long, eye twice longer than temple, latter rounded. Eye somewhat protruding from outline of head, in lateral view almost round. Ocelli small, distance between two ocelli at least twice as long as diameter of an ocellus. POL half as long as OOL. Face twice wider than high medially, along inner margin of eye slightly impressed. Clypeus also twice wider than high, below truncate. Mandible (Fig. 17) nearly twice longer medially than broad between upper and lower denticules. Upper and lower denticules rounded, middle denticule pointed. Margin between upper and middle denticules arched, i.e. not incised (Fig. 17). Maxillar palp somewhat longer than height of head. Head polished. Antenna one-fourth longer than body, with 24-26 joints. Second flagellar joint just 1.3 times as long as first joint. Second flagellar joint 1.1 times longer than third joint. Further joints gradually shortening so that penultimate joint distinctly twice longer than broad. Thorax in lateral view one-and-a-half times as long as high. Mesonotum anteriorly not impressed. Notaulix narrow, distinct, with fine crenulae, ending near before hind mesonotal dimple, i.e.not meating each other in dimple. Mesonotal dimple strong. Prescutellar furrow rather uneven, without crenulation. Metanotum with a median and pointed denticule. Propodeum carinated: on an­terior half with a medio-longitudinal carina, on its posterior middle with a pentagonal areola, and with a medio-transverse carina. Sternaulix rather narrow and linear, with fine crenulation. Lateral part of pronotum, mesonotum, scutellum and mesopleuron polished. Propodeum smooth to uneven and rugulose. Legs long. Hind femur six times as long as broad. Hind tarsus one-fifth shorter than tibia. Phaenocarpa meritoria sp. n. <j> (Figs. 17-19)
