FOLIA XL! (XXXIII). 2. ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK 1980 p. 13-15 Zoological collecting trips in Armenia, III. By J. PAPP (Received June 30, 1980) Abstract: A report on the collecting trip to Armenia (USSR) in 1980 together with the list of the visited sites is given. The bilateral agreement between the Armenian Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences made it possible for me to visit the Armenian SSR (USSR) for two weeks between May 26 and June 8, 1980. As an official guest of the Institute of Zoology in Yerevan my study-tour covered two programmes: 1. Within the rich entomological collection of the Institute I studied the Braconids (Hymenoptera) originated from Armenia and identified by the excellent specialist, dr. V. I. TOBIAS (Zoological Institute, Leningrad). The review of this material helped me to obtain a knowledge on several Braconid species up to now unknown to me in nature. This work required four days. 2. With the assistance of the Institute I took part in some collecting trips to different localities representing the diversity of Armenia especially its vegetation and zoogeography. On the basis of a project the following eleven localities were visited (for detailed data cf. list below): in the environment of Yerevan (Botanical Garden, Djrvezh, Garni, Gokht-Gueghard), Byurakan, Dilijan, Gagarin, Karashamb, Lake Sevan, Sardarabad and Tsakhkadzor. I spent seven days with collecting work, and succeeded to gather c. 5000 insects (3000 wasps). In every case two or three collaborators of the Institute accompanied me on my collecting trips and we travelled always with a jeep (GAZ) essentially supporting my field work collecting insects and, at the same time, it gave me good opportunity to be personally acquainted with some persons of the Institute. The cultural programme required one day. The journey by airplane between Budapest and Yerevan via Moscow availed two days. Acknowledgements. - Herewith I should like to express my sincere thanks to the DirectorGeneral of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, the Director of the Zoological Department of the Museum indicated, and the authorities of the Armenian and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in promoting my study-tour to Armenia. My special thanks should go to Mrs. A. S. AVETYAN who organized my study-tour in Armenia, to Mrs. Y. K. HERTHEVTZIAN who escorted me in my collecting trips and revealed genuine Armenian hospitality. I am very grateful to Dr. A. Y. TERTERYAN and to D. S. AVATYAN for arranging my cultural programme in Yerevan. The list of collecting localities Since the previous two trips covered the Nos. 1-125 my numbering continues with No. 126 running up to No. 153. In each case the collector is the present author himself. For a survey of the localities confer the schematic map published by VÁSÁRHELYI & ZOMBORI (1978); additional
