FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK XLI (XXXIII). 1. 1980 p. 75-86 Three new Lasioseius species from Hungary (Acari: Mesostigmata, Podocinidae) By M. M. KANDIL (Received November 20, 1979) Abstract: Three new Lasioseius species L. kargi sp. n., L. zicsii sp. n. and L. parabispinosus sp, n. are described and distinguished from related species in an identification key. While studying the occurrence of the representatives of the superfamily Phytoseioidea in Hungary, several samples were examined and as a result, three new species were found, Lasioseius kargi sp.n., L. zicsii sp.n. and L. parabispinosus sp.n. Their figures and description are given herein accompanied by specific diagnosis and an identification key. It is of special interest, that the genus Lasioseius have passed through great conflictions among the interpretations of some of the acarologists. KOCH (1839) described the species Seius muricatus, and BERLESE (1887) also named another species Seius muricatus. Later, in 1916, BERLESE created the genus Lasioseius considering Seius muricatus Berlese ex Koch to be the type species of the genus, but without any generic diagnosis. Furthermore, the same author has devided the genus into five subgenera, Lasioseius s. str. , Cheiroseius, Zygoseius , Zercoseius and Leioseius, but either without or with non-sufficient diagnosis for the previously mentioned subgenera. VITZTHUM (1941), included the genus Lasioseius in the subfamily Phytoseiinae under the family Phytoseiidae, but this work was greatly revised by BERNHARD and WESTERBOER (1963) through which the family Phytoseiidae, Berlese 1916, was considered to comprise only species characterized by having reduced dorsal shield and narrow hypostome, such characters were not accepted for the genus Lasioseius. However, BERNHARD and WESTERBOER' s revision of the subfamily Podocininae included in VITZTHUM' s system, indicated that the latter subfamily's genera were characterized by having well-developped dorsal shield and normal hypostome, thereby accepting Lasioseius. In addition, the types of tectum and chelicerae rather resemble those of Podocinid genera than those of family Phytoseiidae. Thus, it felt necessary to transfère the Genus Lasioseius to the family Podocinidae, but the type species was still not designated. The subgenus Lasioseius Berlese, 1916 s, str. had Lasioseius muricatus as a type species. Although, BERNHARD, in revising the genus Aceoseius, had no distinct point of view to consider Seius muricatus Berlese ex Koch or Seius muricatus Koch, 1839, as a type species of the genus, he considered the latter one, as a type species of the genus Aceoseius Sellnick, 1941. OUDEMANS (1938) included Seius muricatus Berlese, 1887 in the genus Typhlodro- mus and gave it the name Typhlodromus bérlései, but he did not describe the confusion between it and Seius muricatus Koch, 1839. The same author (1939), however indicated that
