wider than high, d2 thrice longer than dl. Nervellus of hind wing moderately incurved. Cubital cell closed and distally strongly narrowing. Abdomen as long as thorax. First tergite (Fig. 5) a quarter longer than its greatest width at middle, its sides arched. Surface of first tergite uneven to smooth, shiny; further tergites polished. Hypopygium truncate and ending before apex of abdomen, ovipositor sheaths short, as long as half of third basitarsus (Fig. 6). Body black. Labrum brown. Palpi blackish except brown to light brown joints 3-6 of maxillar palp. Tergites 1-2 yeUowish brown. Coxae and trochanters black, femora brown, tibiae and tarsi yellowish brown, tarsal joints 3-5 gradually darkening. Wings subhyaline, medially (cells Cul, Dl and B) brownish fumous. Veins yellowish brown, stigma dark brown. 6. Similar to female. Antenna somewhat longer than body, its penultimate joint thrice or almost thrice as long as broad. Labrum brownish yellow. Palps brownish yellow (allotype) or yellow (paratype), basal joints dark. Abdomen brown, sternites 1-2 yellowish brown, except allotype. Localities: 1. "Tunisia, Degache, 16. IV. 1977, No. 122, leg. Mahunka", 1 o (holo­type). - 2. "Tunisia, Monastir, 3 km N village, 15. IX. 1977 - No. 156, L. et S. Mahunka", 1 6 (allotype). - 3. Gafsa, coll. Chrétien, 5o (paratypes). - Holotype, allotype and 1 para­type are deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. No. 2816 (holotype), 2817 (allotype) and 2818 (paratype). Four paratypes are deposited in the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris. The new species is dedicated to its collector, Dr. Sándor MAHUNKA, Acarologist, head of the Zoological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Hypomicrogaster dorsalis (Spinola, 1808) (? = suffolciensis Morley, 1902) - 2 km W of La Hencha, 9 April 1977, No. 93, 4 (j> and 1 6. - Widely distributed and frequent in the West Palaearctic Region. New to the fauna of Tunisia. Microplitis aduncus (Ruthe, 1860) - Sfax, 1 <j>, leg. Biró, Boughrara, 6-12 April 1977, No. 73, 1 (j>. Gafsa, ex Agrotis sp. , 8 February 1909: 5 and ex Somabrachys ragmata Chrétien, 9 October 1909: 4 6, the specimens (5 cj> and 4 6) of Gafsa housed in Museum Pa­ris. - Head above rather subrugulose and mesonotum with somewhat stronger sculpture than that of European representatives. Distributed sporadically in Europe and North Africa. Microplitis ariatus sp.n. q (Figs. 7-11) 0_. Body 2,5-2.8 mm long. Head in dorsal view (Fig. 7) distinctly twice broader than long (55-57:26-27, xlOO), behind eyes not broadening, rounded, eye almost twice longer than temple. Ocelli (Fig. 7) small, hind imaginary tangent to fore ocellus distinctly before hind two ocelli. Distance between two hind ocelli twice as long as that between fore and a hind ocellus. POL a third longer than OOL (14-16:10-11). Face together with clypeus quad­rate, only very slightly wider than high, inner margin of eyes almost parallel. Oral organs normal. Face densely rugulose; irons and vertex uneven to subrugulose, shiny; antennái socket smooth and shiny. Temple and occiput rugulose, dull. Antenna as long as three­fourths length of body. First flagellar joint thrice as long as broad, further joints gradually shortening so that three penultimate joints (i.e. antennái joints 15-17) one-and-a-half times as long as broad. Thorax in dorsal view as wide between tegulae as head; in lateral view stout, only one-sixth longer than high. Mesonotum rugulose, shiny, parapside indicated by roughened rugosity. Scutellum smooth and with small punctures, laterally uneven. Propodeum rugose­scrobiculate. Mesopleuron polished, its upper two-fifths and fore part rugose, sternaulus crenulo- rugose. Hind femur thrice longer than wide (40:13, x63). Hind tibia slightly thickened. Pro­portional length to width of hind tarsal joints 1-4 as 33:7/13:5/10:4/8:4 (Fig. 8). Spurs of hind tibia subequal, outer spur minutely longer and distinctly shorter than half basitarsus. L78
