O. magnicauda Fi. is very similar to this species, the specific differences between them see at this species. Antenna 19-22, usually 21, jointed. - Distribution: presumably a European species. New to the fauna of Hungary and Transylvania (Romania). Localities: Bakonybél, Gerence völgy, 1 (j>. Bakonybél, Vörös János séd, 1 6. Börzsöny Mts. , Gál rét (Diósjenő), 1 o and 1 6. Börzsöny, Kun rét (Diósjenő), 1 o. Bükk Mts. , Bálvány (Nagyvisnyó), 1 g and 2 6. Csesznek, Kőárok, 1 o_. Fót, 6 o_ and 3 6. Gyula, csatornapart, 1 6. Homoródfürdő (= Baile Homorod, Transylvania), 700 m, 1 á. Iharkút, 3 g. Nagyvisnyó, Leány völgy, 1 é. Pápa, 1 o. Tapolcafő, Kalapácsér, 3 CJP and 4 6. Tihany, 1 g, Ugod, Gerence patak, 1 o_ and 1 ö. - V-VII, frequent in May. Opius (Allotypus) geniculatus Thomson, 1895 Stigma relatively wide, at most four times longer than wide, emitting radial vein near proximal from its middle, n. rec. interstitial or faintly postfurcal. First tergite almost twice as long as wide at hind, with subparallel sides. Abdominal tergites 4-7 with yellow and transverse streaks. - Distribution: widely ranged in North, West and Central Europe. New to the fauna of Hungary and Transylvania (Romania). Localities: Kőszegi hegység, Velemi erdő, 1 6. Ünőkő (= Virful Ineu, Radnai-havasok, Transylvania), 3 o and 1 6. Opius (Cryptonastes) gracilis Fischer Opius gracilis Fischer, 1957, Dtsch. ent Zschr., (n. F. ) 4: 337, go". - Terra typica: Sződ (Hungary). Opius minor Fischer, 1957, Opusc. ent. (Lund), 22: 219, go', syn.n. - Terra typica: Victonice (CSSR). As a result of a thorough examination of the type-series of O. gracilis (9 <j> and 3 6") the female and male specimens of O. minor named by its descriptor himself, consequently I perceive them as authentic specimens, furthermore, compared the original descriptions (1. c. ), re-descriptions and keys (FISCHER 1973), I could establish that the form minor differs exclusively by its colour pattern from gracilis . Considering the facts, abdomen of gracilis yellow, brownish yellow, eventually reddish and the tergites variable in darkening on one hand, abdomen of minor dark brown, blackish brown, black except light tergites 2(-3). Therefore I consider the form minor at most a variety of gracilis : Opius gracili s var. minor (Fi.). From Iharkút (Hungary) it turned up a form (1 g) with a conspicuous light colour. Face, cheek, oral organs (mandible, palpi etc.), pronotum, tergites 2-3 and every sternites yellow, meso- and metanotum brown. I consider this from the nominate form significantly deviating form giving the name as O. gracilis var. vividus var, n. It seems worthy to note that I know a female with similar light colour pattern from Korea though its face is dark (PAPP 1978b). In 1977 FISCHER named my variety as " Opius cf. minor Fi. o". - Distribution: distributed in the entire Palaearctic Region, however, in East we know only its Mongolian and Korean occurrence. Frequent in Europe. Localities of O. gracilis Fi. : Ácsteszér, Homokházi erdő, 1 6. Budapest, 1 o + 1 6. Budapest, Hűvösvölgy, 1 g and 1 6. Csákvár, Lóállástető, 1 g swept in Cotino-Quercetum.
