Nesogaster ruficeps (Erichson, 1842) Arch, naturgesch., 8: 246 The specimens of the collection were identified as ruficeps Erichson, 1842, by DOHRN himself, but it is listed in SAKAI's Catalogue (II: 13) as a synonym of N. erichsoni (Dohrn). I have no information on the author of the synonymy, and A. BRINDLE, in his work: "A Review of the Genus Nesogaster Verhoeff (Dermaptera, Labiidae)" (Ent. Mon. Mag. , 107: 125) treats it as Nesogaster ruficeps (Erichson, 1842), and draws in N. erichsoni (Dohrn) as its junior synonym. I am of the same view, since in this case the priority is unambiguous. In his paper DOHRN states that the Holotype is deposited in Warszawa; however, I found no marked specimen in the material - the ones present bear the label Oceania and therefore cannot be identical with the type of erichsoni (Dohrn). - Oceania (3 ex). According to literature data, the holotype of N. ruficeps (Erichson) is in the Dermaptera Collection of the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin. Sparattinae Burr, 1911 Auchenomus lingua Burr, 1911 Stett. Ent. Zeit. , p. 339 Sumatra, Soekaranda, Typus, coll. Dohrn (without abdomen) (1 ex). - The specimen carries DOHRN' s very characteristic red "Typus" label, indicating ei+her that the species was marked already by DOHRN as a new species but failed to describe it, or that the label was put on the specimen considerably later, in all probability after DOHRN's death.
