ActuaUy one of them is a male, which was designated as lectotype (collecting place is Stuckenbusch in its description), and it is a specimen of S. caviceps (Stenh. ). , that is why he described his strandi on the basis of one specimen each of two even not related species. Scatophila variegata var. inanis Duda, 1942: Deutsche ent. Ztschr. , 1942: 35, is nomen nudum, since no type-specimens were published for it. In the collection of DUDA 100-110 specimens of Scatophila were found under the label "varieg. Lw. v. inanis D".
