ANOETIDAE Conglanoetus gen. n. Diagnosis (Hypopus): Heavily chitinized, large animals with coarse sculpture. Apodemes thick, ap. sej., also developed. Epimeres with elevated, guttiform, modified sucking discs. In front of adhering plate, the sucking discs situated beside rudiments of genital opening encircled by a chitinized ring including also rudiments of genital opening. Rudiment of genital opening broader than long. Distal half of notogaster having on dorsal part one pair of pores. Legs I-IH normal, developed, leg IV without claws. Type-species: Conglanoetus ornatofoveolatus sp. n. Remarks: The new taxon is primarily characterized by the development of adhering plate. A similarly constructed disc is unknown among the heretofore described genera. The well-developed pores on the notogaster and the clawless leg IV are also important features. Conglanoetus ornatofoveolatus s p. n. Measurements. - Length: 170-185 p, breadth: 131-139 p. Habitus: Rounded on the front and behind with identical arc, thus, regular ellipsis in outline. Dorsal surface with small but sharp punctures; ventral surface above apodemes with irregularly shaped, large foveolae, in between with smaller ones. (Fig. 33). Dorsal side (Fig. 28): Propodosoma very narrow, encircling in front hysterosoma like a ribbon. Dorsosejugal region without sculpture. Dorsal hairs short, thin. Ventral side (Fig. 29): Solenidia and infracapitulum of gnathosoma (Fig. 32) long. Close mesh of apodemes broken only by ap. sp. , latter being discontinuous just in front of apodemes 4. Discs Dsj and Ds 2 on adhering disc narrow, scarcely distinguishable. Hair h^ at body end longer than others. Legs: Adhering hairs of leg I (Fig. 31) and of leg II (Fig. 30) minute, on both legs hardly longer than length of claw. Group of solenidion normally developed, 6 hardly shorter and thinner than t#j. On leg II ^fj only slightly longer than <jO\. Leg III (Fig. 34) (witha very short end hair beside claw. Leg IV (Fig. 35) without claw, end-hair developed. Apex of tarsus bearing only 1 spine. Material examined: Holotypus: No. 3920: Ecuador; 21 ex. paratypes: from the same locality. Holotype and 7 paratypes: USNM; 10 paratypes (202-PA77): HNHM: 2 paratypes: CR; 2 paratypes: MHNG. Remarks: The new species is readily separable from all known hypopus of Anoetidae on the basis of the description given under the genus. Histiostoma capillata sp. n. Measurements. - Length: 130-141 p., breadth: 90-98 ^. Habitus: Obovoid in outline. Surface finely punctate. Dorsal side (Fig. 36): Sides of propodosoma convexly arched throughout, in the middle no separate apex present. Propodosomal hairs long, both pairs projecting over body margin. Inner pair longer than outer one. Dorsosejugal region very wide, sculpture comprising fine punctures and short creases. Notogastral hairs long*, directed foward, all bent. The hairs of the examined specimens were partly broken, thus, exact length could not be as certained.
