part has a characteristic incision. Between the genital shield and the ventro-anal shield there are two narrow sclerites without setae. The adgenital shields are present with two pores. On the margin of the opistonotum there are 8 setae. On the anterior margin of the ventro-anal shield there are four setae. Metazercon athiasi BLASZAK On the podonotum all setae are smooth (Fig. 2). Their length ranging from 14-25 jam, only seta s6 is longer, measuring 45 yum. Also on the opistonotum all setae are smooth, their length ranging from 6-62 yum. Setae 15 are shortest on the opistonotum and lie 96 yum distant from one another. There are 6 marginal setae on the podonotum and 8 marginal setae on the opistonotum. On the opistonotum there are four pores. Pore Po3 lies on the line connecting setae 15 and the lateral margin of the opistonotum and is distant from 15 by once its diameter. In the posterior part of the opistonotum there are two large dorsal cavities (this is the only such occurence in the family Zerconidae). The dorsal cavities are arranged diagonally in respect to the body axis. In the region of the dorsal cavities are three well scleroticised chitinaeous hillocks. Localities.
