S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 28/1. (Budapest, 1975)

1968, leg. A. BOLD; Somon Batschireet, Onon gol, Raschaan, 30. VT. 1968, leg. A. BOLD. - 9 specimens. The geographic and individual variability is rather strong and is in need of the study on the abundant material from the various parts of the range. The separation of mongolian specimens as subspecies mongolica Fald. (MROCZKOWSKI, 1964, Reichenbachia, 3: 183; 1965, I.e. 7: 104; 1968, Fragm. Faun. Warszawa, 12: 334) is doubtful and requires verification. 17. Pteroloma forstroemi GYLLENHAL, 1810 Chentej aimak: Aducin am, 15. V. 1966, leg. A. BOLD. -3 specimens. Transpalaearctic species: North and Central Europe (in the West to the East Alps), Siberia, the north part of Far East. New for Mongolia. Occurs on the sand or pebbly banks of mountain rivers, streams and lakes, also in the woods inside the moss cover or in forest litter. Found in grottos as well. This species is very similar to P. sibiricum SZÉKESSY, 1935 distributed in the south of East Siberia on Far East but can by easly distinguished by the broadend and flattend apex of penis (good figures of male genitalia of both species are in the paper of SZÉKESSY, 1935, Kol. Rundschau, 21: 175-177). LIODIDAE Liodidae collected by Dr. Z. KASZAB and Dr. J. DLABOLA in Mongolia were worked up by HLISNIKOVSKY (1964, 1965, 1967a, 1967b, 1967c) but his study had negative sides. This author didn't take into consideration the great variability of many Liodidae (notably of the species of the genus Liodes) that was clearly shown by FLEISCHER (1908), STRAND (1957), VOGT (1961) and others. For example, he redescribed Hydnobius punctatus (STURM) under 5 species names using the differences in colour of body and antennae, in structure of pronotum and hind femur of male, in puncturation of elytrae which are in the range of the variability of given species (see VOGT, 1961). Unfortunately, in some cases the penis of Liodidae is variable, it may be little chitinised and during the manipulation with him its form is lightly changed. Therefore the differences in the structure of male genitalia of "new species" of Liodidae shown by HLISNIKOVSKY in figures are in need of reinvestigation. Also he ignored the information about the species of Liodidae recorded in the adjacent territoires of South Siberia (FLEISCHER, 1908; JACOBSON, 1910) and the facts of great transpalaearctic ranges of some Liodidae. In general HLISNIKOVSKY recorded 26 species of Liodidae from Mongolia, 24 of them he described as new species. Through the kindness of Dr. Z. KASZAB I could study almost aU these species and the results are following: Hydnobius dlabolai HLISNIKOVSKY, 1967c, p. 117, syn. nov. - I saw holotypus andparatypus" 1 ". These specimens belong to H . punctatus (STURM, 1807). Allotypus of HLISNIKOVSKY is considered by me as paratypus.
