three days we were not able to sweep the grass owing to its wetness. During our stay at Sam-zi-yan the vegetation never got dry. Our Malalse-trap for this period of time was erected near the Hotel in the taiga forest where it collected mainly Nematocera, this was primarily due to the rainy weather. Had the weather been, better it would have been worthwhile to erect the trap other sites too, as for example near the upper forest border» In Hyessan /where we stopped for a day to attend a cultural programme/we also erected our trap in a devastated area where it caught an unexpected quantity and quality of animals: mainly flies, wasps and wild bees. The explanation to this good spoil is a wonderful sunny day. Mts. Pakyon /Nos 244-263/ Our zoological collectings was terminated by a stay at Kaesong whence we made trips to Mts. Pakyon /= Bagyon san/. We stopped at Kaesong from 8th to 12th of September and visited the mountains lying NE on a car. The same localities have been frequented by the members of the first expedition /MAHUNKA-STEINMANN and STEINMANN-MAHUNKA 1971/, we have no additional remark to the description of the previous author. Why we still mention this locality is in connection with the MalaiBe-trap 0 Near the Pakyon waterfall /= Pakyon popo/ there is a Trade Union Resort /Pakyon rest house/, in the garden of which erected the trap. The place seemingly most suitable for the erection was a hidden part of the garden by a grove comprising ash, maple and elm / Pig. 5 /o For four days the trap functioned at this site, catching about 600 animals in all, giving on an average 150 specimens a day, which is quite a small number when we consider that it was in an open area in a wide variety of vegetation. On the other hand, regarding the composition of the species we can say that it proved more favourable as compared to quantity, although, the majority of the species were repeated. It is true that this collecting site yielded certain species of Diptera
