As we were the official guests of the Korean Academy of Sciences the latter afforded help in the form of an escort and an interpreter whose diligence went a long way in. our efforts in making this collecting trip a success. Hereby we would like thank Messrs LI HJONG-GON and KIM VAN-HO,who in fact helped the first expedition too, for their indefatigable work including even sweeping and other collecting activitieSoWe should further like to express our gratitude to the sponsoring institutions, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Culture and Education, and the Hungarian Natural History Museum as well as to the Department of Foreign Relations of the Korean Academy of Sciences. Special thanks are due to the latter for supplying us with a car greatly helping our travelling, thus indirectly the collectingSo Several times we were the guests of the Hungarian Embassy at Pyongyan whose staff also helped us in various ways for which, at this place,we again would like to thank them all. Fruitful experiences were gained by the first expedition in 1970. Possibilities in Korea were revealed for the subsequent expeditions: what number and kind of collecting apparatuses are needed? what cultural programmes await us there? All these information were brought back to Hungary to help the second and all other forthcoming expeditions. Again the first expedition elucidated the points what the Korean and Hungarian partners had in mind, what one side would like the other to do and what can one side would like the other to do and what can be realized of it. Thus, with all these in mind we were to prepare our second six-week trip to the Korean People's Republic.
