The surviving letters of the imperial name and the filiatio suggest that the emperor issuing the constitution can be identified with Antoninus Pius, whose titulature at the time can be precisely reconstructed from the fragmentary consul's name on the front side (see below). The reading of the diploma's outer and inner side is as follows: extrinsecus: I clas]sic(is) senis [et vicenis pluribusve stipendis eme]rit(is) dimis(sis) hfonesta missione quorum no[min(a) subscr[ipta sunt, civitatem Romanam, qui eorum] non hab(erent) it[em filis classicorum dédit et] conub(ium) cum [uxoribus quas tunc habuissent, cum ] est civ(i)t(as) i(i)s d[ata, aut cum is, quas postea] duxi[ssent dumtaxat singulis —] M.
